Most probably. Its quite remarckable that the critic score is quite close to the user score. Second closest score difference since VII. VIII, IX, X all are within 5 points. Both XII and XIII have huge deltas between the scores.

EDGE review can give or take a point. Some publications have bigger weight on the metascore than others, EDGE being one of them. But yeah, 83-81. No higher, no lower.

Can't really picture Edge giving a specific score that changes it at this point, anyway.

Not so sure about that. Don't really picture this game breaking the 100 critic reviews barrier.

Well I succumbed and got the game. About 8 hours in. It's a fun game and I would rate it decent so far.

It does not exactly feel like a FF game though. Lost Odyssey, which I was also playing just recently feels like final fantasy. This feels more like a new IP.

1 point off my prediction, the backlash this game got was very predictable. I hope they announce AND release FFXVI soon instead of focusing on remakes.

It looks like a new IP. I wish Square would have just gone that route with it and then they can make as many sequels for it as they want without fan backlash.

Yep, I said low 80s (80-83) and a couple posters took issue with it way back in this thread. They even claimed it would finish in the high 80s.

I really don't care about reviews at this point with so many laughably bad ones, I can say that I loved the heck out of FFXV despite it's flaws. Some reviewers are way too critical into thinking the game actually took 10 full years of development, which is not true.
