The survey is anonymous, so it's not good enough for me. I submitted anyway, but I'll post an evaluation of the current mod team in addition to that.

I present to you the Mod Rating which will use tiers.

Alone at the top - Carl2291

That he can occupy a tier all for himself despite reduced forum activity for most of this year should tell you something. He doesn't shy away from confronting troublemakers directly in the forums and slamming his fist on the table. Takes things seriously and acts in the best interest of the community. What makes him so good is that he has extensive experience of being on the other side of the fence, unlike pretty much any other member who was or is a VGC moderator.

Good mods - Leadified, RavenXtra, Super_Boom

Levelheaded, understanding, good track record as far as moderations and interactions with the community are concerned. I can't think of any instances of failure.

Serviceable guys who have room to improve - axumblade, CGI-Quality, guiduc, Miguel_Zorro, starcraft, StarOcean, Ultrashroomz, Zekkyou

This is a bunch of people who all landed in the same tier, but in many cases for different reasons. guiduc, Ultrashroomz and Zekkyou are primarily listed here because of a low activity level in either mod or forum presence, or even both; aside from that though, they have done well. StarOcean's flaw is that every now and then he misses blatantly obvious situations that require mod action. starcraft still has his reputation of being the token Xbox mod while CGI-Quality's activity level is admirably high, but some decisions are too pro-PlayStation (both of these guys got their bias boxes checked in the survey).

Miguel_Zorro didn't get above this tier because of his poor handling of the "bet" regarding the NX launch year; this isn't just about editing my signature for trolling purposes, but his overall conduct during those few days, especially because a head moderator must be held to higher standards than regular mods; instead of bringing relief to the overall tension, you could even say that he fanned the flames. axumblade comes across as two-faced; not long after he mocked himself for banning me last year, he banned me for banter with vivster; let me put it this way: if the victim of flaming calls a ban for said flaming stupid, then perhaps it should have never been a moderation in the first place; making such a mistake isn't something I will hold against the mod team, however, upholding such a moderation goes into the mistake column.

Special cases - Torillian, trasharmdsister12

Torillian should still be active on other parts of this website, so his leftover modship isn't really a problem. trasharmdsister12 remains the mystery man who supposedly works hard behind the scenes; the community sees no proof for that, but if that guy could keep his job for so long, he must be doing something.

Time to quit - PwerlvlAmy

While I checked the box for Nintendo bias, this isn't the real reason to put her in this tier. It feels like she barely acts as a moderator for a long time now, so she should be relieved of her duties. Even before her rising disinterest, she was an average mod at best.

Rol, I believe you take things a bit too personally when you are banned. I've had to ban several of my friends before. While I am not a fan of banning my friends, it's my job as a mod. As for vivster, I don't recall seeing him trying to get us to unban you. Doesn't mean that it didn't happen but I just don't remember him doing so. You have a history of being a bully on the site (hell, you have a banner that says you're a bully on the site) but that doesn't make you above the rules so my moderation was based off of that and I do apologize if it was a wrong judgment call on my part. And yes, I was mocking myself for banning you last year because I felt I did take what you said a bit too personally. I'll fess up to that any day. I'm sorry if I gave you this impression that I am being two-faced but really it just comes down to me trying to be fair and I did what I thought was fair at the time.

The issue is about injustice. I got banned for banter and that simply isn't going to be a reason to moderate people on a consistent basis. When it comes to instances of banter, the mod team doesn't say "Yeah, that's flaming, so a moderation is in order," rather they (you) will look at it as people joking with each other, not insulting each other. Therefore it's unacceptable for me to get banned for banter, because nobody else gets banned for banter.

But like I said, it's not the moderation happening that goes in the mistake column, it's the lack of overturning such a wrong judgment call. I sent the mod team an e-mail, got a quick response that the issue is being discussed and that I won't be ignored, and then... nothing. Since you issued the moderation in the first place, the majority of the blame goes to you.

vivster got banned at the same time and I don't think he ever sent the mod team an e-mail regarding any of his moderations, but I dug up the wall conversation between the two of us after we had returned from our bans.

Someone must be pretty devastated right now.

Trying to get Rol banned so hard and then I come along and do it with one innocent post^^

Welcome back.

I think you only got banned because someone wanted to see me banned. You are collateral damage.

on 03 September 2016

Then again without my post there wouldn't be any bait.

Good that I didn't take your mod protection, it seems it's wearing off.

on 03 September 2016

My mod protection is indeed not what it once was. I actually sent the mods an e-mail three days ago, asking that both of us get freed. I got a quick response that the mod team is discussing the incident and that they won't be ignored.

on 03 September 2016

*that I won't be ignored.

on 03 September 2016

That must've been a pretty long talk. Probably still discussing.

on 03 September 2016

Things get complex when you ban people who didn't offend anyone.

on 03 September 2016

Yeah, they are still discussing.

But until we'll get an answer, we have no choice but to continue serving our ban time.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

I honestly didn't realize that you and two were close. So I am sorry for banning you over banter. I will try a little bit harder to recognize when it is banterb next time.

As for your email, I will try my best to at least start following through better. Of course I cannot speak for the rest of the mods but hopefully the team will take your feedback to heart as well.
