Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo: "You shouldn’t assume what you saw on the video represents actual Switch game footage"

Like Nintendo Everything wrote:

"Some folks have been expressing concern about Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s frame rate on Switch’s handheld unit after seeing the video last week. This is important to point out, as it’s now widely known that what we were seeing isn’t true footage from the main device."

Yes Nintendo, we shouldn't assume the games that are being played on your console reveal are actual games. Our bad. We should have known better

This just proves my point that Nintendo's messaging is still bad and their communication has a lot of issues.

You guys remember that footage of Link vs. a giant spider in the WiiU reveal. That game never happened, most games they showed never happened. Also, Legged Freaks became ZombiU and so on and on an on...

I woudn't be surprised if that's the case for what they showed.

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019

Didn't they say the same thing about Wii U ... those weren't actual games (NSMBU and Nintendo Land's mini-games and Wii Sports Club) ... but they basically did turn into actual games, lol.

NBA 2K and Skyrim are the two that may or may not happen because it's up to a third party.

Why would at all showed at all NBA 2k and Skyrim running at Switch if they don't coming on Switch. There is zero sense, not to mention that both Bethesda and 2K confirmed support of Switch.

I find it a bit hilarious that it seems so far fetched to you that Nintnedo might have been a little "optimistic" in its marketing. It has used PS3 and X360 gameplay footage in previous commericals. Why does it seem so unreasonable that Nintendo might have done something similar again, except maybe for a game that isn't even in development. Have you considered that perhaps Nintendo included Skyrim in their ad as a way of trying to force Bethesda's hand to make the game? If Nintendo's NDA's are so taught that 2K Sports and Bethesda can't even announced games that were shown in the announcement video of a console to a point where people have legitimate concerns over whether those games are actually coming to those platforms, then Nintendo has dropped the ball. You need to come to terms with that.

Besides, the word "support" is a pretty vague wording. It could quite literally mean Nintendo asked for Bethesda's input when developing the NS, and Bethesda did so. In no way did their statement concretely say they were bringing games to the NS at all, much less Skyrim, much less the HD remaster. Any interpretation that says otherwise is "extremely optimistic" as mods here would undoubtedly prefer me to say.

One of the actors gamexplain interviewed said that when they were using the Switch, the game wasn't running on the screen. They just edited it in.

This is kind of written in the final of the teaser. While this could mean anything, I think it is more in the sense that the gameplay footage that showed in the trailer itself could not come to the game(not the game itself), or rather the bad fps will be better

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

This is rapidly becoming a cock up.

The PS5 Exists.

Great communication Nint *clap*

What the actual f**k...

Hmm? Nothing surprising.

Everybody does this prior to actual product release. Things are subject to change. Nobody should be surprised by this.

Easy. Bethesda would have sued them. Your scenario implies that Nintendo showed it without Bethesda's permission, therefore Bethesda would have a valid point to sue them.
