Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Chinese Foxconn sketch artists returns with the NX

"NX is a console-handheld hybrid. It is detachable. It contains the console itself, performance module, and the handheld/gamepad.

The console (I think it is supposed to be a dock. I'll call it a dock from now on) contains HDD, cartridge slot and various other interfaces. It supports TV output (but no CPU/GPU).
The performance module is a portable device that provides power supply. It contains a Li-Ion battery. CPU/GPU also is contained inside. It supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and wired connections. You plug the dock inside and it becomes a PS4/Xbone like console, but you can also transfer the signals to the handheld (like Remote Play?)
There are two candidate SoC for it: Pascal SoC from nVidia or AMD R9 SoC.

The handheld part is a 6 inch 720p screen and has a low-TDP SoC, which can satisfy basic operations with lower quality graphics when the performance module is not connected. But it can also display game graphics from the performance module which can provide a console-level graphics. A bit like nVidia Shield streaming. You can bring the performance module with you portable since it has its own battery.

Additional info: whatever the solution will be the computing power it has falls behind a PS4, let alone a PS4 Pro. Don't have high hopes for that. The selling point for it is high portability and hybrid providing rich gameplay possibilities.

If details don't get revealed in Oct then maybe wait for the beginning of next year. I welcome you guys to necrobump this post. Period."

Weird, three pieces?

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

HAHA, was just gonna post this!

I figured there'd be some sort of enhanced thing going on, and I figured when LCGEEK said it ws exotic there had to be more to it than the Nvidia SoC. And yup, Nvidia and AMD, which would explain a lot of the conflicting rumours about it's innards.

more pieces, more complicated do explain. if complicated to explain, is no learn from wii U errors.(that was more complicated to explain than wii)

So basically they took the power brick and turned that into a "console", lol, kinda brilliant in its own weird way I guess.

More gameplay possibilities because it's an hybrid?

Looks too complicated IMO, especially for the casual crowd they're trying to seduce again. They would need a really cheap entry SKU, for example with the handheld only, and then offer the other pieces separately (with a 3 parts bundle available too of course). But once again, if they fail to market this like they did with the Wii U, it won't work. It could work on the handheld market, but I'm really not sure about the home console market.

Oh, and do you really think all devs will make a "handheld mode" and a "power mode" with a big difference in power? I don't think so, the third party support could be minimal once again...

This is probably the most believable NX leak yet, seeing as he accurately leaked the PS4 Pro design. So, 3 pieces, tv dock, performance module (SCD), and the handheld unit. Sounds interesting. I don't like hearing that specs are below PS4 even with the performance module though, 3rd party support might be pretty weak. I do like that the final handheld as a low TDP SoC as opposed to the opriginal high TDP Tegra X1 from the Eurogamer leak, battery life should be decent now. I don't like how awkawrd the controls look with the buttons being directly below the right analog stick.

Oh stop.

Japanese 3rd Party developers are going to love this and thats all Nintendo needs. This concept ensures Monster Hunter is staying on Nintendo consoles.

I could .... live with this design (given that we could've just gotten a handheld only).

It has some extra power in "home mode" at least.

so Ubisoft has been lying about NX so far, about Nintendo learning.

If this confirms Eurogamers reports, then NX is dead in the water
