Looking forward to Persona 5.

These past few years have been pretty good on console RPGs, a great improvement from the relative scarcity of them during the middle years of Wii/PS3/360.

I'm telling you. The curve is turning. Slowly but steadily

Yeah. The series isn't doing that hot nowadays. Don't know why. Quality seems to be the same.

Are the titles too similar today (both within the franchise and compared to other Warriors games)?

So this week the ps4 has gone back ahead of the 3DS on the YTD comparison. I'm using Famitsu because they're aligning this year with last year properly.

Ps4 20k ahead. They haven't counted the 100k 2DS shipment from earlier this year which would put it 80k behind.

Now 2 things.

Can ps4 win 2016 with the Famitsu numbers? And can it win 2016 when you add on the additional 100k 2DS?

3DS has a poor software line up this year. Not many titles. But it does have pokemon coming which will be huge. Can pokemon single-handedly give the 3DS the win?

I guess PS4P not too far away might have reduced PS4 sales a bit. Under 100K sounds low for slim + P5, so I assume the PS4P is the reason.

People think MS should move out of Japan, but then what would they do about those juicy Minecraft sales from the Wii U?

in my opinion, next year is the best jrpg-year on consoles ever with Persona 5, Yakuza Zero, Ni-Oh, Kingdom Hearts, Tales of Berseria, FF Remaster, Nier Automata and maybe Ni No Kuni 2 at the end of 2017 : ) And end of this year - i like Final Fantasy 15 and World of Final Fantasy.

I would argue it kinda is :P

Newer Zelda would be harder to argue, but the old ones it is arguable (Before 3D Jump). However Yakuza, is totally a RPG. 

Out of interest, have you played any Yakuza games?  I kinda feel like people get the wrong impression of it by looking at it.  They assume they're getting Japanese GTA when actually they're getting a weird hybrid of Tales and Double Dragon in an open world lol.

Seriously though, it's loaded with RPG systems; random battles; stat boosts etc.
