Forums - Nintendo Discussion - To Be Honest XB1 Graphics Would More Than Enough For Nintendo

The dock seems only for transmiting the image for tv and for some more disk space(where you can plug other HDD).

I hope is wii U like power, and in the price range of 150 to 180$. Running zelda BotW like visuals and having pokemon, monster hunter and so on is more than enough for a handheld.

BTW Id miss FFXV and GTAVI, but NX can work better as a cheap handheld.

The only thing that makes me go "hmmm" about that is if the only thing the dock does is transmit the image ... then why even have a dock?

Pretty sure Nintendo made this system called the Wii U in which they tweaked the technology for wirelessly beaming a TV signal.

And even if they didn't, Chromecast now basically does just that, and Nvidia themselves have a wireless video output technology as well (the Nvidia Shield console used it).

To me there must be a reason for the system having to be docked other than just TV out, because with today's technology that's not neccessary and it would also be a functional gimping of the system .... why force people to dock the system when it could be used as a controller for TV play for example.

If the system has to be docked at home, IMO something is up. Even if it's not additional processing power in the dock, I could easily see the dock being basically a "cooling bay" with an active fan built in that channels cold air into the system, thus allow it to run at full power.

A Tegra X2 could likely be built to run at even 800 GFLOPS (maybe more), but running at full tilt it would likely rip through a portable battery in 1 hour and cause the internals to overheat. But throw in a "cooling bay" and suddenly you can go to full power. Just a guess though.

Around the Network

I d be happy if the NX has xbox1 level graphics- not sure if it will but that is enough to at least make 3rd party games doable on it and plenty of power for Nintendo games
