Forums - Sony Discussion - Tomb Raider PS4 Pro vs PC highest Settings

It's clearly evident that the PC has the upper hand as it shows, but quite impressive for the PS4 Pro.

I wan't to see it moving.

The difference is noticeable once you zoom into 100% or are displaying this on a 4k monitor. The upscaling effort is pretty good though. Nothing can really beat native but they are trying their hardest. Imo, this picture doesn't do the difference justice cause there isn't much to look at. Once we see the environments and effects and etc, that is where the difference in settings/res will come into play.

Exactly.  And saving a shit ton of money on hardware while we're at it.  Sony and MS (next year)  are making 4k affordable for the average consumer.

What do you think about this? 399$ vs PC probably 1500$ or so.

If you're paying $1500 for a PC, you're either doing it wrong or doing it with pleasure. You can get a perfectly fine gaming PC for much less than that, which means that either you're stupid to pay that much, or you're an enthusiast to whom it's worth the price.

Also, as you already seem to know the answer to your question, this seems like another provocation using the (incomplete) price argument. Your argument is incomplete because it only takes into account the initial cost, whereas the whole thing is actually much more complicated than that. My point? Your price comparison is, in my opinion, pretty much useless because it's so naive, so it doesn't make much sense to even make the comparison.

I ll bite this bait...

You dont want your PC hooked up to your liveing room TV, like you could with a console.

So you d need a 4k monitor.

4k monitor about 300-500$.

Nvidia 1070 to run high-very high settings in tomb raider @4k = 450$

Intel i7-6700k about 350$

LGA 1151 motherboard 100$

...

..

ram,mouse,keyboard,case,psu,cpu cooler,hdd,blu-ray drive,speakers,..... and windows 10.

= probably over 1500$ right?

But hey atleast it can do native 4k then.

Perfectly fine isnt the point, the point was doing it better than the PS4 pro.

By doing it better I assumed you ment "real" 4k natively.

To do that you ll need a expensive PC.

My point was the PS4 pro for 399$ does ALOT for its price.

Ok. I used to think i had perfect vision but now i accept i probably don't cause i honestly cant tell a difference. Only difference i see is that the background on the pro is sharper than on The pc but im guessing hat has to do with some form of DoF implementation.

If anyone has to zoom in to see a difference then I think the case for the PS4pro has been made.

I've said this before, where we are at now it's going to become increasingly difficult (or even nitpicky) to point out a difference between hardware. I can't wait for the Pro to be in the wild and then we can start seeing proper comparisons.

If this is not another fake video (hardly the case), then it's a pretty strong case for the Pro. Basically you're getting pretty close to the 4K visual of the game on a PC where just the GPU costs almost as much as the Pro.

I just question which advantages the Pro brings to 1080p TVs. Maybe downscalling to simulate a super AA?
