Forums - Sony Discussion - Buying a PS4 Pro Thanks to Sony's Most Recent Gaming Event.

:::::DISCLAIMER: This is NOT a Reactionary Thread:::::

I'm sure most of you know by now that I do NOT have a PS4, but I've collected PS4 games over the past more than a year now.  I've also made known on this site that I've asked what size HDD I should upgrade to provided that I buy a PS4.  But with Sony's most recent announcement, I am buying a PS4 Pro!

My logic is that I've considerd the fact that the PS4 Slim will retail at $300 USD.  A 1 TB HDD upgrade will cost me $50 USD on Amazon.  That comes to a total cost of $350 USD.  That's only a $50 USD difference from the $400 USD retail price of the PS4 Pro.  Then, you have to consider the "slight" graphical upgrade to "lowly" 1080p tv set owners such as myself which I think is worth the $50 difference in both short and long term.  And who knows when and what I'll upgrade to tv-wise in the future.  It's a no brainer, or moreso a little brainer since I had to apply a little math.

For the current non-PS4 owner, the PS4 Pro just makes a lot of sense.

God, this is the thing that's going to pee me off the most.

Could anyone who actually buys the pro keep quiet about how much better it is. Thanks in advance.

The PS5 Exists.

Already have a PS4. I can wait for PS4 Pro2. Should have a 4K Blu-ray drive by then. Taking small Apple baby steps. The games can wait. They'll have patches to play better. Just keep PS+ up to date to build my free rental database.

I might get it but I want to see the side by sides first. It is a good choice if you are gonna buy it though.

Yeah I'm trading in my ps4 to get this. Delighted with the announcement.

4.2 Teraflops of graphics compute for 399$ is a pretty sweet package.
Should last you until Playstation 5, and a few years into that (if your not a day1 type of person).

Its abit more expensive than the slim, but its more future proof, when the playstation 5 releases, I bet the PS4 Pro see's most of those games (at lower resolutions) while the older PS4 model probably wont.

I'm gonna wait for the Scorpio and get a PS4 further down the line.

I was getting one the second they showed Horizon. It looked phenomenal.

That's a bit of a backwards wait, since you can get a PS4 now/soon and then save up for a year for the Scorpio.

Maybe I will, maybe I won't. Like I said in another thread, I might get it if retailers offer a nice credit for the original PS4 towards the Pro.
