No. Not unless Apple is doing a sneak launch of a gaming console not running on iOS with much greater software support than OS X currently has.

The gaming press will be more interested in PS Neo than the iPhone 7 and whatever else Apple is releasing (iWatch 2).

The general tech press will be devoting more coverage to Apple because it is a more significant company.

As it's been said, different markets with minimal overlap.

This won't be the only day that the system is promoted. Even if it does hurt them in the short term, if the Neo is solid it won't matter in the end.

We are not talking about sales here am I correct?
We are talking about the impact of both conference here. Sales war is irrelevant. We know that PS4 will still sell and Iphone will still sell great even if it is just an iphone 6 X, V, C or whatever.
My point is that both are targetting diffetent audiences. 
If Sony is announcing a new phone on that date then you have  point or Apple announcing a gaming console that will compete with the gaming console now.

It's the exact same market, that's why Vita flopped while smartphones thrived.

Funny that Nintendo might actually have the biggest announcement of the day.

This is good as it is bad. If the NX doesn't do so well but the mobile stuff does, how will people feel when Nintendo starts going more towards mobile.
