Traditional gaming consoles don't need explaining, put game in -> play.

I guess the mandatory installs on Playstation and Xbox are easy for consumers.  You don't have a gaming console...  You have a computer.

You're missing the point. The concept of the PS4 and XBO is not hard to grasp because it's basically the same as 20 years ago but prettier, consumers know instantly what they'll get when they purchase it and how the games will play. The Wii U with its two screens gameplay raised a lot of questions, it was neither "classic" gaming or new and easily accessible like the Wii.

I'm just hoping Nintendo didn't go for another it-will-be-cool-once-we-explain-it-to-you concept with NX.

So umm... when are you going to start that communication?

He's not sure, but know he knows he needs to do it. Lol.

considering how they are selling, then yeah it is easy

"we have to do a better job communicating"

Yes you do.
How long ago was it since you told of us the NX? 1year or so?

Step 1:
Announce it. That goes under the communication part, we ve been waiting a year or so by now, dont leave us hanging man.

Isn't it a bit odd that one of the lessons they supposedly learned is "you have to make sure you’ve got a great library of games"

They've been making consoles for 30 years, I don't think they went into making the WiiU thinking "You know what we actually DON'T need to have a reasonable games output!"

This.

Almost all that he's said is PR rubbish.

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019

There were three ravens sat on a tree / They were as blacke as they might be / The one of them said to his mate, Where shall we our breakfast take?

Worse than that is Nintendo has said all of this before.

They said the same thing with the Wii & Wii U.

Just huge difference is that with Wii they actually done all that, with Wii they had great revile, marketing and great communication, great launch and 1st year lineup, without software drought....with Wii U they failed on every single step of that and had some other huge mistakes. And now they are talking they need to do much better job regardles Wii U, and offcourse that after they worst selling consoel ever they will do that, so strong marketing, strong launch and 1st year lineup and whitout drouths.

The Wii did have a software drought, Jan-July 2007 was pretty barren.

It just didn't matter.

The N64 and SNES I would say had the best overall launch + post launch lineup.

Definitely wasn't born like Wii Us in same time, also Wii probably had best launch combo for any Nintendo console, new 3D Zelda and Wii Sports. On other side Wii U had software drought almost whole life cycle.

Being able to "take" a Zelda game from the GameCube made the Wii launch look at a lot better than it actually was I think. You remove that Zelda game and it's

Wii Sports, Wii Play, Excite Truck, Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Super Paper Mario (another GCN game), Mario Party 8 for the launch/post launch period ... that's pretty terrible honestly.

GameCube had a great first year lineup too ... Smash Bros. Melee, Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion, Wave Race: Blue Storm, Star Wars Rogue Squadron II, Eternal Darkness, Super Mario Sunshine, Animal Crossing, Star Fox Adventures, and Metroid Prime in the first 12 months, so it's not the be all, end all.
