Forums - Politics Discussion - Is Trump's real agenda to monetize the fringe right wing base?

With his recent hire as campaign manager (fringe right wing media person) and the people he is supposedly talking to (Roger Ailes and others) is it possible that Donald doesn't even really care that much about winning?  Is he just setting himself up for a run at a extremist right wing network?  This seems to be more and more the case.  Keep buying those Trump hats and shirts!

Considering how well Drumpf is doing in the polls, I find it difficult to differentiate the right wing base from the fringe. With Bush 2, Palin and now Drumpf, the Republicans are looking more like a fringe party with each passing election cycle.

As for the question at hand, Drumpf characterizes himself as a "winner"--I don't think he wants to be remembered as a loser. Winning wouldn't stop him from having a run at a fascist network. Winning would probably make it easier.

He could easily blame the media for losing the election (he already is) and then capitalize by starting his own network.  He already points them out at his rallies by calling them out.  Hey, look over there...  There is the crooked media.... Now boo them. He is already envious of the media making money off his constant bullshit.

Probably. It's the kind of dick move he'd pull.

He is always trying to make money.  I commend him for at least starting a network instead of scamming people with Trump University.  At least the people brainwashing themselves in his network are pleased.

His real motive was his own narcissistic driven lust for power and attention... nothing more. Thank god he's getting blown the fuck out via polls. Not that I want Clinton in the White House or anything but yeah.

The only bright side to this idiot getting as far as he did is the fact that we all get to watch him make a clown out of himself in the three national debates. His lack of IQ is going to be more exposed than a hookers vagina.

That is all true but the frightening thing is the fact that there are too many Americans actually believing his bullshit. And let's not forget he has FoxNews and all the other Republinutjobs in his pocket.

There's not a lot of room if you want to go right of Fox News. I guess you could put Alex Jones at prime time and then build around him? This news story would end on chapter 11.

He has WAY more people following him than he should but not nearly enough to win the whole thing. Elections are won by convincing unbiased, non party affiliated voters. Trump never had a shot with those people.

Republican party has become a joke of itself, it's moved far away from being the party of small government and liberty and basically been hijacked by xenophobic old people who think the world is ending every 15 minutes and are constantly afraid of any type of change.

I think if anything his goal was to expand his brand. You know he wants no part of running the country. But he can take this run, say he was almost president for the rest of his life, blame it on anything from the media to corruption, and leverage that opportunity into massive cash. Maybe so much that he'll finally get out of debt.
