Back to The Future!

I guess that one is a matter of "time".

Two people literally have to die for it to happen. Both are 64-65.

I just read too that despite China, Warcraft will lose 30-40 million. Not horrible, especially after being saved by China.....we all knew it would bomb elsewhere......but still disappointing.

Ghostbusters had a terrible trailer just like Star trek. Too bad for Star Trek that it is supposedly actually good.

Seen Star Trek, It's actually not the worst film this year at all, far better than the trailers would have you think, better than Into Darkness for sure.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

And yet Hollywood wants to make a female remake of Ocean's Eleven...

Really? I thought that movie was pretty meh.

Not the best movie ever, but I always liked it.

I'm pretty sure a 100% female "Ocean's eight" starring Rihanna would end up being a new disaster...

Actually the movie did well in all territories except for North America. It did exceptionally well in China though, crazy. It's like 15M$ shy of breaking even so I am pretty positive it will once it hits DVD/BD.

Keep in mind that the fact that it did by far the best in China is actually bad for the studio, since they make much more per ticket purchased in America and the least amount in China. So you can't only look at how much it grossed.

Sony disputes the amount of the potential loss, insisting that revenue streams from merchandising and such attractions as a new Ghostbusters exhibit at Madame Tussauds and a theme park ride in Dubai will help defray any deficit. The studio also notes that the number of people renting the 1984 film has soared over the summer.

"This loss calculation is way off," says the Sony rep. "With multiple revenue streams, including consumer products, gaming, location-based entertainment, continued international rollout, and huge third-party promotional partnerships that mitigated costs, the bottom line, even before co-financing, is not remotely close to that number."

Will probably never get a sequel though...

This was conveniently ignored throughout the entire thread lol...

The break even point is a lot more then $300 million dollars since they also spend $100 million in advertising the movie.

How do we know this exactly? Have they announced it or is it one of the many numbers flying around from "experts"?

That is a number flying around but movie companies usually never disclose the exact amount they spend in advertising for most movies the amount they spend on advertisng it is completely unknown.

Thought so. I've seen this happen one too many times than to treat as fact. Until someone credible confirms it, it's nothing but a rumour. I'm inclined to believe the Sony exec. The movie will end up losing money, just not anywhere near as much as the internet would want.

I did not watch the movie (did not went to the movies for more than 10 years) but the trailer shocked me. It felt like they were making fun of it. Like Scary movie was a little a parody of scream.

Beyond was terrible

Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda!!!!

Movie was garbage, so it isn't something that wasn't expected. Sony needs to start producing better movies now; movies such as this only show us how poor Sony picture's vision is.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).
