Pretty lame that there was all this new blood in the playoffs and only the Falcons have survived to make the championship game. The AFC just seems like it will never change! All the teams here definitely deserve there spot so no shade.

Rooting for the Steelers and Falcons next week (:

ANNOUNCEMENT - Divisional Playoffs Results, Matchups for Conference Championships

Finally a couple of close playoff games to make this postseason more watchable. Quickly moving on to the prediction league results, here they are. Spreadsheet is here, check your own matchups and let me know if there are any mistakes in the maths.

# Username Record/PDT vs. Record/PDT Username # HFA
13 NobleTeam360 3-1/25 vs. 1-3/28 (48) FatedReality 1 20
12 Miguel_Zorro 2-2/29 vs. 2-2/3 (16) amp316 2 13
10 cycycychris 3-1/21 vs. 2-2/16 (26) NinjaBlade360 3 10
8 ljigga 3-1/22 vs. 4-0/15 (18) Chris Hu 6 3

1. NobleTeam360 took down the 1st seed FatedReality with ease. No amount of HFA is going to help when you only get one pick right.

2. This was the closest matchup this weekend with both players going 2-2 after picking the exact same teams.

3. cycycychris came through on the basis of his Steelers pick.

4. Chris Hu was the only one to go 4-0 as he was the only who picked Green Bay. Or more accurately, he picked against the Cowboys.

Matchups for Conference Championships

Unless I am misremembering things, this is the first time that a seed lower than 8th has made it to the semifinals, and we actually got two of them. The HFA rule sees a slight adjustment in this round with an additional /2 modifier because there are only two instead of four NFL games.

# Username Record/PDT vs. Record/PDT Username # HFA
13 NobleTeam360       amp316 2 7
10 cycycychris       Chris Hu 6 3

amp316 won the playoffs in the 2014 season, so maybe he can repeat. And we get chris vs. Chris. Intriguing.

Here are the NFL games to predict:

GB@ATL
PIT@NE

Once again, you can use the same PM as before.

Consolation Round Results

# Username Record/PDT vs. Record/PDT Username #
26 dongo8  2-2/23 vs.  3-1/31 Angelus 18
25 Level1Death  3-1/29 vs.  3-1/22 theRepublic 20
24 superchunk  3-1/39 vs.  3-1/26 sethnintendo 21
23 RolStoppable  4-0/18 vs.  2-2/35 TheGoldenBoy 22

1. Angelus needed to make a comeback after his Seahawks pick.
2. If Pittsburgh had won by 6 or more points, Level1Death would have advanced.
3. Similarly, superchunk needed Pittsburgh to win by 9 points or more.
4. Rol tied for the best results with Chris Hu this weekend. Gets good when it doesn't matter anymore.

The above results lead to the following matchups:

# Username Record/PDT vs. Record/PDT Username #
23 RolStoppable   vs.   Angelus 18
21 sethnintendo
vs.
theRepublic 20

Angelus will have to send his predictions to NobleTeam360 this week. Hopefully Noble doesn't throw himself off a bridge after the Cowboys' loss.

To everyone who got eliminated this weekend, thank you for participating in the NFL Prediction League 2016.

Nope I didn't pick against the Cowboy's I picked Green Bay and if Jordy Nelson would have played they would have easily won by more points. That being said since it doesn't look like he will be back by next week I doubt they can win in Atlanta next week still should by a close high scoring game like the regular season match up was.

No, it was a great game.  KC had a chance to tie on a 2 point conversion late 4th quarter.

ANNOUNCEMENT - Bracket Predictions Standings After Divisional Playoffs

The good news if you aren't cycycychris: The Chiefs lost, so the leader in the standings couldn't clinch victory this week. Spreadsheet is here. As always, check your own statlines and let me know if there are any mistakes. This week you'll notice a new color in the standings. The orange background signals that a player is out of teams left in the race, so best case scenario for them is that they maintain their current rank.

*Includes two points for correct #1 draft pick.

cycycychris stayed in the lead. RolStoppable and Angelus each move up two spots while NobleTeam360 and noname2200 each drop two spots. The duo amp316 and dongo8 stay put. theRepublic and Chris Hu swap places, as do Miguel_Zorro and superchunk. Farsala is the biggest winner this week, climbing five spots and passing the non-movers JWeinCom, gergroy, MTZehvor and SpokenTruth; the real loser in all of this is Arkaign who plummets from #12 to #17. NinjaBlade360 and TheGoldenBoy stay where they were. FatedReality up two, castor down one, ljigga up one, WiiStation360 down two. The bottom three are the same as last week and ReimTime clinched dead last place already.

Now for the scenarios for the possible winners of this contest. There are only six points left to hand out.

1. cycycychris has NE as the Super Bowl winner against GB. If both teams reach the Super Bowl, he will already have clinched victory before the final game of the NFL season. The Falcons reaching the Super Bowl would also do the trick.

2. RolStoppable has GB over PIT, so the only possible scenario for a win would put him one point ahead of cycycychris. GB vs. PIT in the Super Bowl is not enough, GB also has to win the Lombardi trophy.

The remaining players within six points of cycycychris are without chances. Angelus has only NE left, and as loser in the Super Bowl. NobleTeam360 and noname2200 have only PIT left, and as loser in the Super Bowl. amp316 has PIT as Super Bowl winner, but CAR didn't even make the playoffs. dongo8 has the exact same teams as cycycychris left, so he'll stay six points behind the Yoshi hater regardless of how the remaining games play out.

If I recall during the regular season, you picked against Dallas pretty much every week. So nobody is surprised you picked against them again this week.

After not picking since week 2 or whatever I have somehow crawled out of last place. Idk how.

lol @ Dallas. They fucked up by clocking the ball with almost a minute left and a time out in their pocket, already in FG range. Should have run another play, drained some clock, and went for the TD. The Packers secondary was reeling and they let them off the hook.

At least both CG games should be entertaining.

Not really, they definitely won a lot more games then they should have had.  Most members of the sports media in the DFW area predicted they would end up 8-8 before the season started.

PLS, Atlanta. Beat GB, I don't want to see them in the Super Bowl and please Pittsburgh, please beat New England, sick of seeing them in the SB too.
