That's what the vast majority of politicians do. Almost none of them are actually principled people who have honest positions they really believe in.

Changing your position from 1 thing you made up to get votes to another thing that might get more votes, because it's better, seems a pretty good outcome to me, given the nature of the system.

Don't worry about it. Some people just have to convince themselves people with different ideas are evil, so they feel like heroes fighting against them.

So lets elect someone grossly unqualified because some people just cannot get through a day without making disparging remarks about other ethinicities or people of a different sexual orientation?

Talk to a Jewish person who lived in Nazi Germany about what facism is and then get back to me about how persecuted you are about "political correctness". 

Not being able to talk down to a black person or calling a gay person a "fag" any more isn't facism, it's society evolving and deciding that being an asshole in that way is no longer culturally accepted. 

Oh, look at you.  Sprinkling in a little bit of history and facts into the wrath.  This should get fun.

Even something like 90% of Bernie supporters say they are going to vote for her.  She could lose, but I think it's very unlikely.

It's like they say, "practice what you preach" and are you truly willing to support those who don't live up to their OWN damn standards ? 

I also want to bust this myth that facism only belongs to the right side when all it boils down to is a supression of an individual's rights or power so it must be nice to know that the lefties want to censor offensive speech that would be deemed as "racist" or take an even bigger cut out of a citizens salary since that leaves NO OPTIONS for them ... 

Like I edited in above, not being able to talk down to black people anymore or call a person a "fag" or not being able to slap a woman on the ass in the work place like you could maybe 30 years ago is not facism. 

It's the majority of society deciding those are social norms that are no longer acceptable, because they are quite frankly asshole-ish. This is a natural and normal evolution for any free society to have, over time certain norms become outdated/unacceptable. And you are even free to still do all of those things. No one is going to kill you for it. You just will have negative social repurcussions due to it most likely at some point or maybe an ass whupping depending on who you've insulted. But no one's dragging you off to some political prison because of any of that like they do in China.

Really ? Then maybe I should test out how enlightened EVERY country is (or isn't for that matter). What is acceptable and what isn't is relative but you are far from being correct that offensive slurs with ethnic ties are not commonly used and that should be easily seen with the democratic party too who just take take them for granted instead of truly trying to humbly earn their support like the other parties are ... 

It starts out with censorship and the next thing before you know protests will be suppressed one way or another ...

I hope not. Don´t get me wrong I think that Hillary is a horrible choice for such a powefull position but everytime I see/hear Trump or his supporters speaking they remind me of Erdogan. Turkey is now a dictatorship and it started just like this, his followers believed him everything and thought that only he and he alone can solve the problems in their country. Everyone who is critizising him is lying (media etc.) and he has built up the image of an enemy (Trump -> muslims, Erdogan -> Kurds) to create/intensify fear. I know this sounds rediculous now but no one thougt that Erdogan would go ths far either. This means not that the US is automatically a dictatorship as soon as Trump is president but I can definitely imagin it.
