While it is bad in NA, if you look at it globally, still over the Wii-U and sitting at around 1/3rd the number of global X1's sold, that console still has some Vita in it.... see..... did you see? what I did there?

Laziest update. Absolutely no adjustments were made to the previous numbers, so now these numbers are even worse.

Agreed, no point in caring about this update because it's a pure estimate not based in any sort of fact outside of my NPD leaks and Media Create Japanese numbers.

Well, at least they are making the estimates from good reliable sources lol.

I've lost all interest in the sales updates here. I see VGC more as a sales discussion site now and not a sales tracking site. 

Honestly that's the only reason I'm here. We get worldwide data from NPD and GfK and so much of the recent Chartz estimates are inaccurate to the point that that I don't even look at them when I need sales data quickly because they can't be trusted.

This site is pretty good for historical sales, though.

Wii U down 40-50% weekly for the start of the summer, it seems. Splatoon really was the life vest last year around the Q2/Q3 transition. PS4 down a fair bit yoy, not having the amazing year many thought it would, and the numbers could even be too high, given our poor tracking so far this year.
It seems that the 20 million CY will be elusive in 2016 as well, with roughly 6 million sold for 6.5 months, that's a lot of ground to cover to reach 20 million for the CY (a 583k average for the remainder of 2016 will require a Wii-like holiday season).
Xbox One down as well, the 8th gen simply doesn't seem to have any spark in it compared to the two previous generations, much like anticipated.
At this rate, even 180 million total home console sales will be a hard target, and even with both handhelds added in, we probably won't beat the numbers the Wii, 360 and PS3 did combined either for this gen.

Kudos to the people in Japan who actually bought a Xbox 😂
