I forgot visual novels, haha. I'd have to go with Ace Attorney with that genre. It's a great story with quirky, but lovable characters, and the puzzling solving aspect is just awesome.

Runescape introduced me to RPGs which was then later solidifed by FF XI. Ace Attorney also introduced me into VNs, a genre beforehand I largely ignored.

Like most 80s kids, Super Mario Bros is what REALLY got me into gaming. Though I had played stuff like Donkey Kong, Space Invaders and Pong before that technically...

Breath of Fire got me into RPGs.

Metroid Prime, believe it or not, got me into FPS games. Never cared for them before, but Prime helped me see how much MORE there can be to them.
