Forums - Movies & TV - Game of Thrones "Winds of Winter" Season 6 Finale Impressions?

Lots of stuff happening, good episode, but the teleportation is starting to bother me. Even when factoring in differing timelines and imagining that all is not chronological, the logistics just don't add up, not even close. Setting up for a truly massive 7th season though, can't wait!

I loved the King's landing story and how it ended in the episode but damn so many characters got the axe :

They may still be alive in spite of odds, have faith on The Seven. :P

I try picturing that the stuff between scenes happens with several lapses of time between them, a la Star Wars. Book fans though point that the traverse of land is wrong but the series already deviates in all sorts of matters from the books as we are all aware.

Maybe if I put too more time thinking about how they travel and how fast they do it I would mind about this situation even more, like thinking on how Varys can fast-travel everywhere.

It was kinda predictable now, but I thought they sorta rushed the High Sparrow getting his. Not sure why Cersei didn't blow him up earlier either.

But it's very enjoyable to see the various character arcs lead to the conclusion. And all the really bad guys are getting what they deserve.

Is John Snow the son of Ned and Lyanna?

My biggest gripe is that the High Sparrow indeed didn't get some slower and more personal date with Mr. Death.

All signs point at Snow being the son of Lyanna Stark and The Mad King (a Targaryen, father of Daenerys). Remember the Mad King got Ned's sister kidnapped and forced himself into her and that sparked a war.

I have read in a couple places that next season is supposed to be 7 episodes long and that the directors want to close the show out in 13 more episodes total.  If both rumors are true, we would have 2 shortened seasons left.  I personally feel like they can close this thing out in 10 episodes for season 7.

heh, wouldn't even need to wrap it up in 10 episodes of season 7, there's no reason they couldn't just do a 13 ep season. It will be kind of annoying if the next seasons are shorter though, especially since that means it will be a longer wait between the end of s7 and start of s8

I would LOVE a 13 episode long final season.  I think they are looking at it like AMC did with Breaking Bad though, especially since they are subscription based, and wanting to get 2 more seasons out of not quite 20 episodes of material.

Tyrion looks tame and is being stripped off his cynicism and sarcasm nowadays though.

Incorrect.  Lyanna and Rhaegar, Aery's son, were together and are Jon's parents.

Oh yes, you are right.

Sansa will end up being a villain against Jon. She looked highly pissed when Lyana was talking. There's also Baelish in her ear. He's already put it in her head that she could be queen like she always wanted to be in Season 1
