I can understand why he's being sued. You can't carelessly just accuse anyone of being a pedo because just the accusation will likely ruin a person's life innocent or guilty. It's not really an issue if the accused is guilty but if he's innocent.... I don't know how this kid "baits" people into his trap but none of it can be used in court. There's a reason why cops investigate possible criminals and crimes and not wannabe batmen.

he doesn't 'carelessly' label anyone a pedo. he isn't being careless and these are child predators, not pedophiles, a pedophile goes after children under like the age of 10 or who haven't began to mature.

at any rate he speaks with these people for WEEKS and only insues and continues with it if they actually make it clear that they're looking to meet up and have sex.

I personally think that most 15/16 year olds are capale of making SOME degree of decisions relating to this sort of thing, the human brain is mostly developed at that point. but regardless of my opinion the law is the law and there is no doubt that there is some degree of wrongdoing by slowly nurtering a relationship with a young person online with the goal of sexing them if you're an adult

and, NO, the guy isn't innocent. at least certainly in this case. He in chat logs recommended meeting up for sex, was told her age, and even specifically recommened meeting at a fast food location so it wouldn't be quite so plainly obvious why he was there

and, as Anxiety War mentions, he did the same thing any sexual predators do- claim "oh, I was just meeting up to tell her that she should be more careful and didn't have any intentions of ACTUALLY doing anything". its always convenient how they don't say anything like this in the chat conversations and also convenient how practically EVERY person who attempts to do this seems to have the same excuse *rolls eyes*

I agree with a lot that's been said here. This guy isn't out to help children. He's out to get clicks and hits and fame. Already, entrapment is illegal. You can't pretend to be someone and initiate conversation trying to get someone to propose something that would be illegal (like having sex, etc.).

Secondly, everyone is entitled to have a defense, and the law still applies the rule "innocent until proven guilty". While a person has not yet been sentenced for a crime (and even if/after they are), you can't start slandering people by giving out their info and putting it everywhere online, claiming that that person is a pedophile or whatever. It's not up to people to play justice warriors, but the law.

I don't know much more than what's been presented here. Maybe the guy suffers from Hero syndrome. Maybe he's an egomaniac. Or maybe he truly believes what he's doing is "right". Whatever it is, he needs to stop. I think he needs to lose the lawsuit in order for him to stop, so I certainly won't be contributing to his defense. I've already read so many stories of waiters going online to publicly shame customers who didn't leave what they consider to be an appropriate tip.

Public shaming of people you consider have done wrong needs to stop.

oh come off it, get over yourself and do some research before blah blah blah-ing

it is a FACT that Anxiety War (the user involved in this case) gets NO money from his Youtube channel or his website. he has no monetization active and never has. Its also a fact that he has had a number of offers from both fans and TV shows to give him money and possibly to even attempt a TV show starring him, but all have been declined by him.

I think on the surface if you didn't look at all the obvious gut thing is "omg another Youtuber trying a ploy to get popular!". but someone who has a full time career (which Anxiety War does) who refuses money and fame boosting things is clearly somewhat genuine

I think what he did by reporting is a good thing. However, what I find weird is him pretending to be a girl to hunt these individuals with sex. Like does he go patrolling the chatrooms for hours and hours as a little girl?

It's like cops trying to sell you weed outside a nightclub just to bust you if you give in. (I see those cops there at Taj Lounge all the time posing as a weedman, pot head, stoners, 420ers, dope faced, weedlings..etc etc)

the majority of times Anxiety War has not done that, I believe he did it twice. a lot of his videos were taken down but the majority just involved showing up at a fast food or convenience store parking lot to confront an online sexual predator in his normal clothing and personality

at any rate its not as if what Anxiety War does generally can be used in court cases, I don't think at least. I believe it IS a basis for the police to take seriously their own investigation of the person though.

also a lot of people seem malinformed, Anxiety War is generally pretending to be like a teenage girl, not an 8 year old. he just plays dumb in chat logs.

I will admit any sort of entrapment in which you make it up a whole scenario seems a bit odd, but we do have to some degree accept the fact that the perpetrator and sexual predator has NO idea that its fake while they're involved.

the scenario may be synthetic but imagine if it was your 13 year old daughter getting creeped on and convinced to meet up for sex by some 30 year old.

again though, its not as if Anxiety Wars stings on their own put these people in jail. he just reports his findings to the police and then they do their own research seperately

He is no judge nor cop, and he is encouraging people to commit (fake) fellonies.
Getting sued for playing vigilante is the right outcome.

Huh. You fancy city slickers got your morals all screwed up. Here in the great state of Texas (soon to secede from the Feds) the marrying age is 14 years old with parental consent. Younger wives bare strong healthy children. I married my first wife when she was 17 years old with parental consent. I personally am not attracted to girls much younger than 18. I was also young at the time so was not robbing from the cradle.
In Japan the age of consent over much of the rural sections is 13 years old. My sister in law is Japanese and grew up in Japan and she will tell you how fast Japanese girls grow up. Different parts of the world have different morals when it comes to this subject.
The question is was this guy going to marry this girl with her parents consent?

Oh, really? So he just reports his findings to the police? So I guess the Youtube channel is just there for, what again? Right, just for the police. Of course, a public channel just for the police. And publicly putting the names of the people he entraps on the internet as well as pictures of these people is "just reporting his findings to the police".

I never said he was out for money. And I clearly said in my post that I was basing my opinon ONLY on the info presented in this thread. I didn't and don't intend to do a thorough study of who this person is, what his goals may or may not be, what his past actions were, etc. I merely suspected that he suffer from some form of hero syndrome. He is taking the law into his own hand, dealing out judgement and giving a sentence on his own by labelling these people "pedophiles" and posting all their info on the internet.

If you find this to be ok, that's your opinion and it's fine with me. But don't be surprised that people find what he is doing to be wrong.

It's called hebephilia.

Doesn't matter what the terms are, it is a much older person trying to have sex with an inoccent, underage girl/boy.

It does matter, because there are certain differences.

On one hand you have those who are going for prepupescent children and the others for pupescent and past that.

And some children between 12 and 17 certainly had their first sexual experiences in that time, so speaking of innocent is not correct.

Besides that, I made a bet with a friend on a famous chat who can get more adults interested in yourself during 30 minutes. We both acted as 14 year old girls and I won by 5 dudes wanting to know what my underwear is where he had 4 dudes. It's pretty scary how fast these people are on getting in contact with children. I mean, wow, try that out for yourself and see how many chat windows pop up.

I know the difference between them but I was just being lazy and went with pedo. I should have just went with sexual predator. People will see him as a villian regardless if he's called a pedo or told that he goes after underage girls.  I don't care to get hung up in a debate over the labels when my point was about the reputation being damaged by a kid who wasn't appointed by anyone. What will most likely happen is he will be sued, that guy will move and be more careful in the future (he will more difficult to catch).  His "proof" is likely inadmissible in court. He's morally right but legally wrong. There are many ways the kid was careless.

What if he does these things, like pretending to be a 15 year old girl, for his own sexual enjoyment?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Hitting on a 15 year old girl is not pedophilia.

Also isn't what he did called entrapment?

It's called hebephilia.

Unless she looks quite underage, she's too old even for that. Surely not pedophilia, that requires attraction for minors of very young age, physical look and psychological and sexual maturity, and is almost always devastating for the victim, while for older minors it depends on their psyvchological maturity, that's why in countries wher adult can have sex with minors older than 13 or 14 years there are anyway further conditions to avoid abuse of children not enough sexually and/os psychologically mature, and also higher minimum age, up to age of majority, if the adult is a relative or has some position of authority or legal guardianship that could help partially or totally bending the minor's will, and deliberate abuse of authority to obtain it is always punished harshly even without actual violence or threats.

This said, accusing that man of pedophilia is surely slander, as it's technically completely incorrect, his behaviour can be even highly questionoble and illegal, but it doesn't imply what's justly considered one of the worst perversions.
