I'd put a prime Hakeem or a late 90s/early 2000s Shaq against any center in any era. They'd more than hold their own IMO.

Hakeem is the most skilled center ever with great size and agility to go with it, Shaq is the most relenetlessly powerful center ever even Wilt said he would not attack the rim the way Shaq does.

All the great centers in the 90s would hold their own in any era. 7 foot and taller men that can play basketball at a high level are rare. The 90s for some reason had a high number of those people. I dont think its a change of style that is affecting this . There just hasnt been a player with the right body and skill.

This as well.  Chance plays a part in these things.  6'11 to 7'1" is the ideal size but ironically the rarest.  And to be clear, my previous post isn't saying Shaq would suck in the 60s or 70s.  Rather that those there would not be lessened and that there were better then.  Shaq in the 60s or 70s would just be another star in a star studded era for big men.

But officiating tendencies do effect some things.  In this touchier league, many rough and tough big men would get in foul trouble.  Doesn't mean big men can't dominate, rather that it's harder.  The best would still do well.

"WE WOULD BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF THOSE YOUNG CATS!"

-Every former player ever

That might be the case but what Pippen said is absolutely true the 1995-1996 Bulls are miles better then this years Warriors team they would hold a size and strenght advantage against every starter and backup player on the Warriors.  No one on the Warriors could contain Jordan.  Pippen has enough size and was a great defender that he could shut down Curry, Thompson and Green.  Rodman would dominate the boards and even Luc Longley has enough size and strenght that he would dominate the Golden State front court and on top of that they had two veteran legit 7 foot centers on the bench.
