Forums - Gaming Discussion - Lets face it, 4k is a Scam

You must have bad eye sight. I can see the difference in 4K instantly.

I have a 4k Samsung TV (U6500 series) and the difference between 1080p and 4k is very noticeable, even at bigger distances between the person and the TV.

Let me get this straight:
We raged, went nuts, started fights and insulted each other for 900p upscaled to 1080p vs native 1080p.

But now, 1080p vs 4K --> Not a big deal.

Goal posts...

Difference between 720p to 1080p is noticeable.

900p to 1080p is kind of arguable, I can see it on my monitor when I played AC Unity on my PS4.

1080p to 4k, if someone (op) argues there is no difference, I'm not even joking when I say an eye test is in order.

It might have been what was being displayed on the TV's, but the difference is there and it's big.

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

Resolution changes are far more noticeable in gaming than in movies.

Probably just a shit TV or badly configured.
I've been to several stores recently and saw massive differences between TVs of the same price range. Quite a few had a picture that looked more like SD, but wasn't since the channel had an HD logo.

20/20? What?!!
I'm still using my 8 year old Benq 21.5 HD monitor. 4K upgrade will always be a PC based monitor and no TV as I prefer to sit closer for pixel glory.

And I can't see past 30 fps. 60 fps is a scam!

I've only read the thread title.

Maybe a month ago, a friend of mine gave me some Bose speakers. I needed something to Kinect them to so I bought a Sony receiver thingy from Walmart.

I walked passed the TV section and one TV stopped me in my tracks. I said "damn this TV looks good!". I even got my wife and she agreed. It was only $600 from Vizio but it looked amazing. Even from a distance when I was leaving, it looked noticeably better than all of the other TVs.

I've researched and found out that it was a low-end 4k TV but it was like comparing a cheap HDTV to an expensive SD TV. It's real.

Watch a Korean idol girls group music video on a 4K TV and then tell me its worth it.
