Forums - Gaming Discussion - Opinion: Only Sony and Nintendo Have Exclusives, Now

So only Sony and Nintendo got exclusive games now

Yes, that's right. 432 71.76%

Yes but I don't care. 67 11.13%

No. 103 17.11%

Kind of how I expected MS to go, but didn't expect it so soon. Xbox is now basically the Steam Machine for what is now Microsoft's main platform, Windows 10. In that regard they have far more solid footing than Steam did in their attempt at cutting into someone else's territory, but I feel MS had better step their PC game up to get anywhere with cutting into Steam's market.

It's times like these when I'm super glad I've never invested in the Xbox ecosystem.

The only reason I purchase consoles is for their exclusives.

Which is why no matter what the xbox community preach, xbox division have one hell of a confused marketing strategy right now.

Their products are cannibalizing one another. Like what is the damn point really?

-The slim gets competition from Scorpio(I mean literally what's the point of getting the slim one then?).
-Scorpio gets competition from PC gamers(If I wanted performance I would shell the fuck out of a PC if the games I like were there).

Talk about identity crisis!

Yes and no. Yes there are no longer xbox exclusive games. Instead there are now Microsoft exclusive games.

So if you have a pc then you can play there games on win 10 and through there store. If you dont want to mess around with a pc then you can play them on xbox. And if you have both u can buy the game through the xbox store and get it for both places.

Windows 10 isn't a Plataform, it is a OS that operate a Plataform, The PC is a Plataform of everyone at the same time that it is a plataform of nobody.

Sony can make a Store on All the Windows, Linux, IOS, and they would get 100% of the sales and would own their own "Plataform" just like Steam don't have to pay nothing for Microsoft for each sale in Steam's Store.

The difference is that Sony would sell less consoles if they release their games on PC, while it seems that Microsoft don't bother too much about Console Sales.

And if Sony could release their games on PC aswell, and sell twice as many games but only half as many consoles, why wouldn´t they want to take that route? Do you think they make their money on hardware?

They'd make less money on software sold on PC than on console. And keep in mind that there are lots of services pushed through their consoles - PS+, the PS Store, PS Vue. So they make a lot of money from their hardware being sold.

Microsoft still have exclusives (even if not many of them). They simply realized Steam was making a lot of money so they decided to seriously go for that market too. And that means Halo, Forza and Gears on PC.

And hopefully more varied games in the future if they want worldwide customers and not only from US.

I've heard Scorpio wasn't supposex to be announced just yet, but Slim got leaked and somebody in charge wanted a surprise in their E3 presentation. Not a smart choice if true, IMO.

You pretty much own a Xbox and thats your PC. So there is a point in owning a Xbox afterall.

Why put " opinion " when it's a fact if you had put the right title " only Sony and nintendo consoles have exclusive now "

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Leaked or not. It doesn't really change the justifications of each SKUs.

Pushing for 4k gaming with such disparity between older SKUs is just outright dumb. Xbox community says it's for longevity etc etc. And the PS4/PS4 Neo won't be able to compete with that.

Get real. It doesn't really matter that much any more when the focus starts shifting to the next gen. Games will still be made on old consoles during the early years of the new generation consoles and will be ported as such. Wether its a good port or not is the question.
