It's a bigger shame games like yokai watch and monster hunter aren't on the vita.  It could have sold 10m by now instead of 5m.

Gotta say, well deserved, the Vita Port of minecraft is absolutely amazing, nothing quite like it while sitting in a cafe here drinking tea and going diggy diggy for diamonds, one of the most fun titles I had getting the platinum from on the Vita for sure.

What Ryng said sounds believable but what you said does not. 

If they were on Vita, Vita hardware sales would have been much higher early on meaning bigger audience to target? That's all I got hahah.

I do think Nintendo actuqlly completely derailed Vita with their exclusivity deal for Mon Hun. Genius move.

In the short term yes, but it weakened the overall portable console market during the mobile attack, this could backfire on Nintendo by turning more third party devs efforts towards mobiles, away from portables. Just like MS focused its attacks on the wrong threat, Playstation, while competition on mobiles was taking almost the whole market, crushing Win CE/Mobile/Phone, Ninty too focused its attack on the wrong foe when mobiles were going to "steal" a large chunk of casuals from portables.

Exactly.  Business wise it was a genius move by Nintendo.  They're being demolished WW by the competition,  the last thing they needed was stiff competition in their homeland in the handheld market.  

Monster hunter had single handedly made the PSP a worthy competitor.  By snatching that they stopped the vita from ever taking off properly. 

I find it a little sad that Minecraft is the one of the best selling games on the Vita. Considering how big it was and probably still is, I'd expect this number to be higher. It's too bad the Vita didn't get more high selling unique games. I guess there's still a chance for there to still be a hit title on the device.

Thank you Sony for doing the minecraft Playstation deal before Microsoft got their hands on the franchise.  and thank you mojang for doing the deals before they sold it.
