Theres already too many of us.
Our planet cant sustain it and smart egg heads are saying if we cant find out how to live in space or teraform another planet within the next 100years, then eventually we ll just kill ourselves.

But I dont think it ll become a problem until theres like 15bn of us.

The earth certainly can sustain a population of 7.7 billion, we just need to go about it the right way.

The question is whats life going to be like 100 years from now, when the water levels of the sea have risen a few meters.

There will be alot less land to live on, a 100 years from now, and there will probably be even more of us by then.

Only if we go about with living unsustainably. And actually population growth is already stagnating, so we probably won't grow too much from here. If I remember correctly, the estimate is that we will reach 11Bn by 2050, then decrease down to 9 Bn before 2100 and it'll stabilize at that level.

Nah its already too late to do much about gobal warming. The sea levels will rise the next 100 years going forwards, even if we stopped all polution today.

Its not about trying to live more sustainably now, that times already past.

Our enviroment is going to be differnt 100 years from now, and we ll just have to adapt to liveing in it.

I think you've mixed it up. 9 billion for 2050, and around 10-11 billion in 2100.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Africa also has a birthrate that isn't sustainable as well. But for the most part, the world has finally gotten use to the fact that breeding like rats isn't a good solution. I doubt we'll reach 10 billion within our lifetimes at the rate we're going, which is certainly for the best.

Unless there is a global health epidemic like the flu of 1918 and or numerous famines we will easily reach a population rate of over 10 billion in our lifetimes (next 40 years).  I sure hope that once we get past the 10 billion mark the population growth slows down dramatically and eventually declines.

The amount of land we'll lose is neglegible. What should be more concerning is all the infrastructure we'll lose. And considering nearly 1/2 the world lives only a few feet above sea-level, that's cause for concern as well.

It's probably not the latest estimate, but having rechecked my textbook, it deffinitely said 11Bn by 2050, only for it to decrease to 9Bn by 2100. It's not an old textbook either (made in 2013).

It says by the close of the 21st century.

Better education = slower population growth. China is already slowing down with what they've achieved over the years. The only problem now is India.

A lot of those African economies are the fastest growing in the world. Eventually their population will slow.
