Unprecedented EA support

I just realized I've used the WiiU more than I have the Wii. The Wii was great at the start yet in the later years Mario galaxy and Zelda was all that I played on it. It's not much of a difference though.

"Not the same games ... not the same content" ;)

Yeah to be honest, I played my Wii U more than my Wii too. I got bored of things like Wii Sports/Fit very, very quickly so I didn't bother with those much.

I played a lot of the Mario Galaxy games, DKC, Mario Kart, NSMB Wii ... but I've logged more time in Splatoon than any of those and probably about equal amounts into 3D World, DKC: TF, Mario Kart 8, and NSMBU. A bit of time in Mario Maker too.

And great games in general.

Eh, if it weren't for Smash 4 and all the extra VC games that we didn't get on the Wii's VC I'm not so sure I could even compare the time I spent with the Wii vs WiiU. 

Wii U is the Sega Saturn of the 21st century; a cult curiosity that had certain niche appeal, but did just about everything wrong from a design and management point of view.

A console with great potential that was unrealised. The biggest problem was that after the first couple of years 3rd party support was almost nil.
I will say however that the indie games I have bought on Wii U have been fantastic and it has given the console a much needed boost in terms of variety.
The marketing by Nintendo for Wii U has been abysmal. They really are out of touch with the market right now.
