Not worth it for $300. Like others have said save up for a 40" plus to make the increase in resolution worth the money.

So, uh, what's the cheapest good 4K TV you guys would recommend for gaming? I'm in the market for a new TV, so I may as well future proof this one. I'm thinking like 55in.

I wouldn't buy a 4k tv for another 2 or 3 years.

I'm getting a new tv REALLY soon. But sometimes I think its not worth it and im wasting my money lol. I currently own a 32 inch 720p tv. I want an upgrade to a 32 inch 1080p TV so I can fully enjoy the FULL resolution of the PS4. This is the TV Im planning on getting

Is it worth upgrading? If you find a better tv around that price let me know!

I am also willing to go up to 42 inches if  you find a good tv deal!

PS VR for $550 (assuming you have the camera and move controllers already)?

And the best TV deals come around Boxing Day or the Super Bowl, but I don't know if you want to wait that long.

And 1080p is totally worth it, but I would get the biggest TV you can fit / afford.  THe 40" Vizio is $400:

It depends on your budget, how much are you willing to spend?

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

330$ for a 32" television? You may as well save a bit more $$$ for a 4k TV.

OP is in Canada (in case you didn't notice the bestbuy.ca domain).  $330 Canadian works out to $257 US.

I'm canadian as well... and its still overpriced in my opinion. You might as well go for 4k, or at least go for a larger TV.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

I don't see the point in waiting. I want a new TV now, and it seems like a bigger waste of money buying a 1080p TV now and then another 4K TV in 2 years when I can just buy the one 4K TV now and have it last me even longer.

unless you are spending a reasonable amount you will get a pretty shitty 4k TV as opposed to a very nice 1080p TV. 2 or 3 years down the track when there is actually decent 4k content you will be able to get a decent 4k TV where the combined cost of the 1080p+4k TV is probably around what you will pay for a garbage one now, most likely you will have saved money not wasted it.

NB: Future Proof is saleman talk to get people to overpay when it comes to technology, there is no such thing as future proofing as technology changes and evolves so fast.

Not really. A good 720p TV can still look good. The gap between 720p and 1080p is noticeable but not eye changing and both 720p and 1080p is last gen. 4k is the future and soon everything will be 4k.

Yes but by the time 4K is really "needed",  current 4K TVs will be pure garbage. I always advice people to wait until the media (in this case, 4K content) is the prodominant media being shown on TV, physical media and streaming. We're a good long ways away from that.

I owned an HDTV set in 2002... it was pure shit by the time HD was the dominant format. The same will happen to you if you buy a 4K TV in 2016. Wait until 4K is dominant, then get one. They will be much, much better... and cheaper.

It is absolutely worth the upgrade.
