unless you are spending a reasonable amount you will get a pretty shitty 4k TV as opposed to a very nice 1080p TV. 2 or 3 years down the track when there is actually decent 4k content you will be able to get a decent 4k TV where the combined cost of the 1080p+4k TV is probably around what you will pay for a garbage one now, most likely you will have saved money not wasted it.
NB: Future Proof is saleman talk to get people to overpay when it comes to technology, there is no such thing as future proofing as technology changes and evolves so fast.
