Forums - Movies & TV - How do you think Ratchet and Clank (film) will perform at the box office?

It'll bomb, no two ways about it.

Around the Network

I'm seeing marketing ramp up now towards a family crowd, not just the big three kids networks. Viacom and NBC are starting to put heavy advertisements out for the film.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

I'm hoping it does well. 5 tickets coming from my family alone. Glad we can help lol.

PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS

A mouse & keyboard are made for sending email and typing internet badassery. Not for playing video games!!!

Not enough marketing. Nobody knows it exists.

I've seen a lot of marketing in Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. Youtube is 50/50.

As long as they get around 20-50, they're good to go.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

I'm fairly certain the game alone is going to have made back the entire budget for both by the end of May. The film is just the cherry on top (if they hit $20m they break even on just the film, and it only takes the core Ratchet fanbase to hit that, not counting new fans and/or friends/kids/etc).

It won do exceedingly well now that Jungle Book is taking off but it's gonna do fine like you said.

Alvin & the Bratmunks chose to face Star Wars. Sure they got brutally murdered, but they still made some money off of it.

Well the problem is the market is narrow for Ratchet because or Jungle Book. That takes a big chunk of kids and with Civil War coming the week after Ratchet it makes the window for a big week very narrow. Not many parents wanna spend the money on three movies in a row, and they're GONNA see Civil War, so it becomes a bid war between Ratchet and Jungle Book.

Either way Ratchet will do fine because the game has done exceedingly well, but it won't have room to do gangbusters.

Jungle Book just sucked the air out of the room. Hope Ratchet has room to breathe.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

I would say at USA first week will do around 50 millions, and worldwide around 150-200 millions. After that it could have legs, or just fall flat.Like many here are saying, the film will depend on word-of-mouth and that alone.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

The budget can't be more than $40m, and it will probably do around that much.

Opening week will be less than $10m thats for sure. Might play well in certain parts of Europe like Germany or China if it ever released there.
