people are fascinating.

a console costing more than 400/500 "what!?!? too expensive, FUUUUUUUUUUU"

"what!? my great looking, open world, massively long RPG has framerate drops to sub 30fps in certain demanding scenes? FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"

the irony, if it wasn't so amusing sometimes it would be just sad

Yeah, but this thread is not about Witcher 3 but the Final Fantasy XV Platinum demo which has a bad performance. No need to be defensive, it's Sqenix' fault to release the demo in that state.

Terrible demo and terrible looking game.

the demo is not showing any part of the full game, it's a completely separate product. judge the combat system, or some of the assets, but not the full performance. I don't need them to waste any more resources in optimizing a demo. I'm sure it ran absolutely great in the PC they made it

But they released it and of course DF analyzed it. Whether people infer the final game performance with the performance of the demo is totally up to them. It's also Squenix' fault if people do so.

You might have had a valid point if it wasn't for the fact that games that already exist have done more with better performance.

Except that the game is still 6 months away from release. And the tech demo isn't going to be part of the game. So the comparison isn't valid to begin with.

Regarding "done more" comment. No RPG on PS4 has global illumination dynamic lightning system. All other rpgs so far have baked lightning system with a day - night cycle. In addition to the fact that the cloud and weathering system is also calculated in real-time, meaning the rain for example has affects on certain aspects ( weaker fire spell, stronger lightning ). The big variety in fighting styles and different combos. Something some games like the Witcher lacked. The animations as well are impressive. DF has already talked about how advanced the animation system is. But the demo doesn't present it properly. Young Noctis model and animations are average for sure. I would also like to mention the scale of the enemies you will be fighting, Shadow of Colossus kind of enemies.

Could you please explain "done more" because it doesn't make sense to me unless you were actually comparing those games to this tech demo.

I get the feeling that everyone seems to ignore the recent trailers that we got. Which doesn't make sense when we talk about something like the graphics.

Apologies for the long post.

I hope this game won't be too ambitious for its own good. They have time to optimize it, so I'll keep my expectations high (despite I wasn't a fan of this demo).

i was going to reply but i believe you've said enough, so I'll just mirror that... I could add, using ice spells that change the way the surrounding environment looks and have it impact the battle. using lightning in wet areas to increase the power of the magic.

sure, there's plenty of games doing more with better performance... lol

Why all this Hate towards Final Fantasy ?, the Director Itself since second 1 stated that the Game is just to show Mechanics, isn't a part of the game, and isn't intended to show the Game's True Performance,  and there isn't nothing like Final Fantasy XV, out yet, The Witcher 3, might be a good game, but it use a Terrible Combat Mechanics,  those mechanics aren't good for  a Open World game, Final Fantasy, will have a Very good Night, and Day, System, will use a lot of Particles that The Witcher, hasn't used, the Environment will affect the game, when Raining the Lightning spell will be more effective, but Fire will not, the Fire will ignite the location and this can harm you as well, and the Combat is more intense, and with more Mechanics.

I Think that from the games that will Launch, Dark Souls 3, is the closest RPG game, to compare Final Fantasy XV.

So many haters hating. I guess I'm the only person on the planet who enjoyed it.

Look- I enjoyed the demo. My only problem is framerate. You can make the game 720p and I truly won't care at all.

The consoles running the games are weak, we all know that. however, a game like this runs better with a locked framerate.
