The Xbox One version of indie hit Rocket League remains on track to launch in the middle of February, developer Psyonix has said. After a fan asked for a status update on the project, Psyonix said on Twitter that the soccer-with-cars game is currently in Microsoft's hands for certification, signalling a release soon.

Rocket League's Xbox One edition was announced during The Game Awards in December.

The Xbox One version comes bundled with expansion packs Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle-Cars, and Chaos Run. Players on Microsoft's console are also getting some exclusive content themed around Halo, Gears of War, and Sunset Overdrive.

However, it'll be lacking one thing that the PS4 and PC versions both support: cross-platform play.

Rocket League was one of 2015's biggest gaming success stories. Developed for PS4 and PC on a budget of $2 million, the game has generated nearly $50 million in revenue.

Because if they do, those that are playing on LIVE for free (PC owners), will mix with people who pay for LIVE (XB1 owners) and that could create an uncomfortable conversation.

So what? PC players play with PS4 people. They have to pay. It's dumb as shit. I was gonna buy the Xbox One version, but with no cross play, it's a no buy for me. Fuck that horseshit. I'll play on my shitty PC.



I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

Food for thought: They don't allow cross-play because it is on Steam and not Windows 10 perhaps?
Bottom line is you guys get a great game with all the DLC, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I suppose now it's a matter of getting a good userbase so online will be more enjoyable

It's strange microst seem dead against it, Sony have wanted to have cross play with Xbox on a couple of occasions but Microsoft just refuse, so sony have settled for cross play with PC users. 

 

But back on topic, you're all going to live this game, honestly it's really fun and addictive yet simple to play. Would of been great to play Xbox players but nevermind.
