If there was a system that forced immigrants to spread out and to actually take care of themselves COMBINED WITH efforts to allow them to be able to do that (I don't think its possible right now. Our infrastructure cannot handle it, and money is burned on bullshit all over the country), I'm confident that we'd have more or less zero issues right now.

What is actually happening though is that we are creating mini-versions of the immigrants' countries inside of Sweden. Integration is a fantasy.

I really don't see how this makes the regular Swede stupid though. All parties apart from SD are saying the same things (lies) and SD is being bullied out of everything. Is SD our saviour? Well, probably not. Will the others do a better job? So far, I'd much rather let SD try. Will probably throw my vote at S either way, but S + SD next election? That would be nice. That wont happen though lol. Bah.

We do so many good things in Sweden. We compete (and win) in all sorts of things, we're really good in tech and medical science. Its still very difficult for me to take pride in my own country. And yet they say our polititians are amazing compared to the corrupt shit out in the world. Really? I don't believe it at all...

Spreading out the immigrantis is the solution. But you're misguided if you think SD would help with that. They are the driving factor behind pushing the communes' rights to refuse immigrants, thus forcing them to concentrate in the places that accept them. They're the problem not the solution.

Completely agree. I think we have a situation where every political party at the moment do not know how they are going to approach the immigration situation. And i would bet that the solutions SD are proposing are the most costly for society and for individuals rights.

Btw, great profile image :).

Your not getting enough immigrants? Wow... I'm done! If you seriously belive your country isn't getting enough... you know what, its your society's problem.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

That's not what we're saying at all.

Currently in sweden, the state decides how many immigrants that we can take in every year. The state is further divided, with the smallest divisions called communes. These communes can have their own policies and are currently allowed to take in zero immigrants if they so wish. This does not in any way affect the total number that the Swedish state takes in.

So what happens when communes can say no to taking in refugees? Some will say no because of economics, they want other communes to bear ther financial load. And others will say no because xenophobic local politicians were voted in. The result is that the communes that do not refuse refugees will have to take in everyone that the other ones refused. Leading to immigrant concentration, ghettos and the like.

Taking away the communes' rights to refuse refugees would NOT affect in any way the number of people that the swedish state takes in. All it would do is distribute the load evenly across the country and prevent ghettos from forming and growing. People would be forced to intermingle and integrate. Especially in schools.

Well, censorship and turning a blind eye also do not help... When the Swedish government fines and puts politicians on probation because they say something negative about the migrants regardless of whether their comments are correct or not, then there's a huge problem. Creating an echo chamber at the government level is a recipe for disaster and it has proven to be costly for the country already.

It's a bit more complicated than that. As I said, in the Swedish conciousness, the rise of SD is seen as one of our biggest national embarrassments ever and everyone but them are steaming furious. You would have to live here to understand how angry people are at them. So parties will do everything possible in order to distance themselves from holding even remotely similar views. The government can't put politicians on probation, that's up to the individual parties. At least I think that is how it works, I mean the whole of SD would have been put on probation for not being "politically correct" if the government had that kind of power.

Our government is one of the least corrupt ones in the entire world. I would be very surprised if there was some kind of conspiracy to shut down dialogue. I think the hate of SD has sort of polarized the debate and led to people being constantly on their guard for everything resembling a pro-SD sentiment. And I think it's the best we can do against them. Show them that no matter their numbers, they will never be considered  a legitimate party by the rest of the country.

Third largest party, possibly even larger. Well Fuck what the people want, fuck democracy and fuck free thought.

Just do like Korea, have only one possible candidate. With that system, we won't have the "risk" of people voting on the "wrong" party. Everyone wins! Right?

Worst of all is that the rich communes take the least responsibility yet have the best opportunity to receive many immigrants.
