Forums - General Discussion - Oculus CEO to Australians: Go Ahead and File a Complaint

How is it cocky to say file a complaint? He obviously cant talk about it so he suggest the people to make ir official. I doubt its Oculus charging he said soecifucally he does not want to throw people under the bus implying that some partner might charge Oculus for the distribution and oculus might not even be happy about it

I don't think tloculus us after a few bucks for a few Australians they gave away 5 million worth of rifts recently. 10000 orders a 70 bucks overcharging shipment fees would be just 700k and alot of bad publicity doubt thats worth it

Charging two tax... WTF?

This has been a weird generation when it comes to company's pricing their products and Sony reaping the rewards afterwards. First Microsoft with the Xbox One and now Oculus Rift. If Sony keeps the price of it's VR device at manageable levels (~300) it may just take a lead in another race just by uttering a smaller number than it's competitor did.

Sony should make PS VR PC compatible if / when they can sell the headset at a profit. With a tech like VR it's not good to limit your market, even if that market is selling like PS4, as they will saturate that market pretty quickly. I think Sony can only really count on a maximum of 15-20% of PS4 owners buying PSVR. If they make it compatible with PC, especially if they can price it significantly lower than Oculus, then they pretty much double their potential market.

As to OP, pretty dick move by Oculus, guaranteed a very low market penetration in Aussie in this launch period.

This whole thing is 3DO all over again. I'm sure the people over at Sony were popping the corks as soon as the news hit and giving each other high fives.

Exactly, somebody who knows their history. Same with Sega's Saturn compared to the Playstation price wise. $600? Come on. Sony's will probably be "299.99".

Yup. It's not about how beefy something is. I mean, if you can bring a product to market that is top of the line spec wise that's fine. But only if the price is at a consumer level. People aren't going to get second jobs to buy entertainment. Sony knows better than anyone lol.

Because Luckey does not represent VR on PC but only oculus.

You think the Vive will do any better?.

All I see is another repeat, another set of news the mimics OR and another set that's all in favour of PSVR>PCVR.

Well, it largely depends on pricing, marketing and what's available to play using it. Luckie for example is getting alot of negative PR for oculus. There's other less known VR headsets out there and some new ones will probably become avaible on pc over time.

Do you think Vive will be cheaper than OR?.

Do you think it being expensive will be outwighed by it's marketing?.

I honestly don't see either set doing what could be done, so far all thise news about VR warz is putting a lot in Sony's favour which makes me question why bother with PC VR at all.

Because there's a market for it. Do you think sony will allow their VR headset to be used on PCs or with porn sites/porn games? I don't think so. Sony might with porn in certain countries like japan. haha. There's gonna be a flood of indie VR games through steam and crazy amounts of mods. I think VR gaming may become more popular on consoles than on PC but more money will be made through PC with porn and steam.

Vive may alter their pricing after seeing what happens with OR and PSVR. Personally, I don't care if VR is high end because it's just jacks up the prices. I rather just be able to play some games and watch some porn without my wallet being utterly empty.
