Yes that is why people are making PS4+PC games instead of X1+PC games
Sounds legit

They are doing both actually...

This is the future of Xbox and Windows 10 but will it will happen completely this gen probably not but the Next Xbox console will have all the PC library and be running on the exact same platform and require development for for just the one platform, The long term future of Microsoft's platforms is very positive and potentially very strong as the infrastructure is there in the long game.

The future of Xbox is a Steambox without Steam? The future is bright indeed....

Branded Steam Machine that uses no Steam... yeah, the only difference is a disc drive...

I knew when I saw your name and the title of this thread that you would somewhere to say that the xbox one and pc are the same platform. That's just very wishful thinking. If a game is both PS4 and pc exclusive (console exclusive) can it be played on a xbox one? No. Can a xbox one play steam games? No. Can the xbox one play any pc game? No, it can't and it never will.

The only reason why someone like the op would be trying to paint pc and xbox one as one platform is because they know the xbox one's game library is falling short compared to the competition and they have fluff the numbers to make it look better.

Err, not if the universal apps thing is for real... whether it can run them is another story. I know the XONE falls 2GB RAM short of running F4 PC, but that's one of the more powerful games out there...

Microsoft needs to remember what the Xbox brand was supposed to do in the console market. They jumped in with the most power which was supposed to be similar to the quality of PC gaming on a console. Now they just try to mimic Sony's Playstation which is probably why we refer to them as the twins. Bungie was a huge factor for them but now is gone exclusively so there are not as many reasons to get an Xbox One when you can play these games with greater fidelity on a Sony or a PC. Really wish I could get Forza 6 on Steam though. :P

Long story short, building a powerhouse console would have made the Xbox One sell more.

I think they sort of wanted to sell the Kinect as a gimmick like the Wii (a fad) and then relying on DX12 to do multicore work for them and circumvent the weaker GPU, but they didn't realize that they have to sell the API and render it attractive first.

Unless they announce they are phasing out DX12. Square Enix showed that after their current batch of projects they will use DX12, so perhaps they will allow us to see if it works out or not.

I wont believe OP until MS releases Halo MCC and Rare Replay to PC.

Not the MCC, but I expect Halo 6 on W10...

Seriously, why not just ask MS to enable cross compatibility? If the XONE lacks the power, you can use your PC for the rest of the workload, hence if your PC isn't up to speed, the XONE can do the heavy lifting and the PC provide anything they might not have...

Sounds better to me...

Hahahaha

Direct X 12 will be irrelevant in a few years because on the coming Vulcan API. DX12 will still be around but the combined efforts of the Khronos members as well as the open and multiplatform nature of Vulcan will make DX12 redundant.

I thought these threads were serious but now I just see that they exist to get people banned. What about serious conversation folks?

Like DX7, DX8, DX9, DX10 and DX11 became irrelevant because of the OpenGL API and the combined efforts of the Khronos members as well as the open and multiplatform nature of OpenGL?

It has nothing to do with hardware specs. Even if MS allowed any pc with windows 10 to play any xbox one game that doesn't mean that any xbox one will be able to play any pc game. Ms only owns the rights to it's games and not everything that's played on PC.  Every sensible person knows the xbox one is not gonna be able to play games like WoW or games that are console exclusive to playstation or nintendo.

BTW I hate multiquotes because they are pain to reply to.
