Obviously they need all major sports titles. Madden MUST be on their system and must be just as good or better. COD as well. GTA would be next. After those three... it's all gravy.

What NX needs is software that people can't get anywhere else, not ports.

If so then nx is destined for failure, they them selves cant do it all and no 3rd party will take the risk neither would it be sensible with 3 other more viable and more frinedly platforms to support first.

Ugh, personally I hate ports of old games as launch titles for a new console. It was terrible for the Wii U, and I would hate it again for the NX. Honestly, having some new games would be better than ports, but I feel that is for another discussion.

The most successful port would maybe be a.... COD game maybe? Or GTA5? I dunno. My response to porting a existing game usually is "...why? I can get X game on Y or Z console already. Why would I get it again..?"

I love most of the titles you list and would be appealing to me greatly, but this thread isn't about me, haha. Most people probably wouldn't care about these games...

I agree.  If it's an old port for a game that's already available for every other platform (especially PC) it seems pointless because anyone that wanted to play it already has.  3rd parties seem to do it for one of two reasons: to judge the difficulty in porting/development or to use it as an excuse not to support a platform when it inevitably gets low sales.

I see 3rd Party developers split into 3 groups for Nintendo:

Group 3:
The last group are the western third party developers that don't have a strong past relationship with Nintendo: Bungie, Naughty Dog, Rockstar. These developers won't be easy to get on a Nintendo console because I don't think they even really supported Nintendo during the lucrative Wii era. I am also not sure if Nintendo fans would buy enough of these games for it to be profitable (even with a large install base). If I was Nintendo, I probably wouldn't worry much about securing the support of this group.

Ha ha ha. Naughty Dog is Sonys first party studio. Check the facts bro.

Kingdom Hearts, Sonic, Rayman, Mega Man, Skylanders, De Blob to name a few..

I know that ports won't be the thing that move NX hardware, but if the 3rd party support is low, then it would be safe to think that they will put little efford into the games (thus the ports from older gens, easier to develop than more modern titles). The 3rd party titles that Nintendo got at the WiiU launch were all over the place, and they focused more on getting as many M rated titles rather than choosing those that might be close to the audience there.

If you have to sell games to an audience, make games that catter to them, it's basic bussiness.

Also, the only GTA titles on Nintendo platforms have been GTA for the GBA and CHinatown for the DS. I don't think T2 wants to work on Nintendo systems after those, specially when they could have ported a version of Vice City/San Andreas to the Wii (a platform with 100m units sold) but didn't.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Yeah, I've been thinking for awhile that if 3rd parties want to be successful on Nintendo consoles, they need to look closer at the audience to see what would be a good fit, rather than throwing their big games and hoping something sells well. Of course, they won't be doing that, since it's risky and takes more effort for something that possibly won't sell.

I guess I just answered my own question as to why 3rd parties won't be supporting Nintendo, haha...
