Forums - Sales Discussion - Nintendo means bad news for 3rd parties!

Smaller userbase is valid but lacking. On a larger userbase, there are a lot more games. Also, Nintendo themselves had no problem creating million sellers on smaller userbases,

Wouldn't this mean that Nintendo would have gotten more support than they got last gen? PS3:s lack of userbase compared to Wii will lead to more games for Wii aimed at the japanese market. What type of games that is I have no idea, but it will get more games.

The Namco article is interesting, as people have applied the statement about RR7 to every single game anyone ever makes.

I think that the most intressting thing is that they have stated that they are lowering the amount of game expected to be released for the PS3.

I find it hard to believe early adopters would not know who makes Wii Sports (and by extension Wii Play), though I could see the people buying games for them (at their request) not knowing.

I can see a lot of people just buying games that it stands Wii on, but thats me.

Nintendo's monopoly in the portable space has allowed that to be useful, but that doesn't help its consoles any.

If you belive that the succes of the DS is because of the GBA explain the increase of software sales in Japan last year (around 30 million more games were sold 2006 (around 68 million) than 2005, 2004, 2003 (all aroun 37 millions)). The DS shows that if Nintendo gets succesfull 3rd party can sell well. (if the Wii gets the same level of succes that is still question, but in Japan it seems to be a succes).

What I'm waiting for is a Wii exclusive that's actually worth announcing.

Agree and disagree, mostly because I for the moment have more 3rd party games that I want than Nintendo games. Some more well made game would be very nice, but I wont buy a Wii before Treasure Island (which have some other strange name), Spacestation Tycoon and RE:UC is out. I think Wii wont start to get better names before early 2008, by the simple fact that I belive that the most of the games will start getting developed now.

Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!
