Who cares? Why is this an issue?

Because imo, it's like selling someone else's painting and taking credit for it. She sings someone elses songs, and said person sits in the shadows, unrecognized and unappreciated by the public. Sure, she has an amazing voice, but amazing voices are a dime a dozen. Singer songwriters who perform are much more talented.

I could go on Youtube right now and find 10 amazing singers doing cover versions of other people's music. But I could search for 10 years and be lucky to find ONE great singer SONG WRITER.

She does write her own songs though. I don't know if she composes the music though.

Signature goes here!

R.I.P. artists who can write songs all by themselves.

Some of the greatest songs were penned by another though. Well atleast Adele is better and non-hypocritical than Beyonce who's been stealing credits since 1956. I mean, 1990s.

I agree while I greatly respect someone who has the talent to do it all, it's very close-minded to shun artists who collaborate with others to put out their music. Who said that making music should be a solitary endeavour anyway? Also it's worth noting that Adele does write her own songs.

No, Bob Dylan wrote his own songs. Check the credits. You will find professional song writers names in each and every one of her hits. If she was talented enough to write her own music, the song writing credits would reflect as much.

You're free to like whatever you want, but if you think she's writting these songs, you're being ripped off and lied to. She is an entertainer, not a song writer. Her name is slapped in with the studio owned song writers name because it helps sell records. Look up the Blurred Lines trial and read Robin Thickes deposition where he basically admits to not even BEING IN THE STUDIO when it was written. When asked why his name was in the credits, his reply was basically "it helps to sell records". You're being lied to.

What kind of slayage, congratulations Adele.

Some of the greatest songs like what? Titanic's theme? I'd argue that ALL of the most important songs, were written by the performer. Songs that are written for money are shallow, and meaningless. Songs that are written at 2am, on the floor of a dirty one bedroom apartment about someone's father who recently died of cancer... those are meaningful and heartfelt. Eric Claptons Tears in Heaven, which was written as a letter to his baby son who fell out of a window and died? THAT, is touching... THAT... is art.

You can keep your manufactured hits that have no basis on anything and were/are created to make a quick buck.

These days it seems to be about how still buys albums. My music purchases have gone way down past decade, meanwhile my Mom keeps on buying including Adele's albums.

The music is actually really nice. I've heard the whole album and there's very good material there.

I'm wondering what is that you are looking in music? Is it honesty or some sort of credibility out of people or something like that?
People out there that listen to mainstream music just want the music as it is, why is it you want it to be so holy and pure? It's just pop music ffs and it is what it is and it's just as good as any genre of music you can bring to the table.

Also those people on the shadows have their names on the credits and are paid to make her music and many of those people hate the spotlight and could never make their music be successful if they weren't selling it to someone else to sing/play for them.

Manufactured? Who cares as long as its a bop. There's a reason why I probably avoid those aongs because it's boring as hell. I mean atleast Eric Clapton is pleasing to the ears. Bob Dylan is torture.

That doesn't necessarily make them good songs though.
