Forums - Gaming Discussion - VGC's general consensus of Fallout 4.

So what does everyone think? I need to know what game to get when i'm done with Phantom Pain.

And why the hell is the metacritic user score is low. Its barely breaking 60s.

It's split in two:
Either

*It sucks ass, along with the rest of Bethesda's games, and Bethesda as a whole, because it doesn't run at a perfectly constant 30 fps on consoles, and has some bugs. Completely unacceptable.

or
* It's good, the framerate is okay and unless you have some crazy standards, a few occasional drops down to 20-25 fps is completely fine (Note: XBO version drops to zero fps at certain occasions where it stops altogether for a short while, but overall it is nothing more than a minor annoyance). If you have enjoyed past Fallout games, and/or other Bethesda games, you will probably enjoy Fallout 4 as well. As a matter of fact this seems to have fewer issues than previous Bethesda games.

It's a Fallout game... period.

Yes, better graphics, yes, Pip-Boy on your phone or tablet, streamlined dialougue, somewhat more intelligent interactions but it's Fallout and BECAUSE of that, it's grrrrrrrreat!

I'm only like an hour and half in because I've been busy and playing Tomb Raider as well.

I'm enjoying it, visually it looks better than I anticipated. The frame rate thus far is holding up nicely. I'm impressed and look forward to playing more.

It's my first PS4 game and first Fallout game, four hours in and so far I'm very impressed. There hasn't been any major frame rate drops, etc. I would definitely recommend it.

So far, I'm enjoying it on PC.   Can't speak for consoles.  Took a bit of getting used to with the new crafting mechanics, but I'm starting to get the hang of things.  Also, I shot my dog like 9 times before I realized it was a companion lol.

First time i've given a Fallout game a proper and i like it so far , played about 4 and a half hours.

I'm only a few hours in and I love it

I've read a lot of haters complaining about how it technically/graphically peforms but on the PC its been smooth for me in terms of frame rate and like everything looks pretty

again, I'm pretty early in the game but thus far I'm like mega excited to play more but unfortuantely keep having work stuff to do :/ blah

also: I feel a lot of users giving it like reallyyyy bad scores on Metacritic either HAVEN'T played it, have just watched someone else play it, OR didn't like (or play) the earlier Fallout games. if you hated Fallout 3 or New Vegas, but particularly Fallout 3 as this is more akin to that, then I don't know people would think they would like Fallout 4. it keeps in line with a lot of the mechanics, setting, tools

there's a dead wild vicious dog like 20 feet prior to meating the dog companion so I thought the same thing at first haha

Wait until the Game of the Year edition. We all know it is coming.
That way you should have access to all of the major DLC, and the game will have been patched up.
