Any of the big act breaks. I can't get spoiler tags to work on my phone, but the end of Summer, that thing with Tess; except for the end of Fall, literally everything I called hours in advance. People all acted shocked at some points of it but every segment reeked of unoriginality (in terms of plot). It's not necessarily a bad thing for it to be predictable, but in a story hyped up so heavily as revolutionary and unique, seeing things I've seen in many other places doesn't do it for me. Outside of the interaction between Joel and Ellie at times, nothing about it broke ground for me. That's what I'm talking about.

So you are saying you feel smart for figuring out these obvious development points? Let me tell you again. These are not twists. The story is as straight forward as possible. It begins with "Take the girl to the fireflies" and it never changes it's premise. I was not much surprised by anything that happened on their way either, but it still is one of the best character driven plots ever in a video game.

Now you tell me what you would have made different to make it better.

Oh please, don't try this revisionist history crap with me bud. Everybody everywhere was praising this game in every single way, ESPECIALLY plot, for months after it came out. Don't go and claim that it's simple now when that was the strong point of the game a year ago.

I'd change a lot, if we're going to get into that. A shitty story performed well by the leads is still shitty. I will keep it spoiler free because, again , mobile and I don't trust myself with handmade  spoiler tags for fear they don't work. So I wouldn't introduce flat characters just to be killed off to make me try and feel an emotion. I wouldn't start summer off with some BS discussion between Joel and Tess about smuggling to make me feel connected to them, I'd show the smuggling first. Playing minimalist there just feels lazy. I wouldn't have the end of Fall happen as it does because that's 100% unrealistic. It makes for good development but there are ways to do that WITHOUT going that over the top and making me literally, out loud, say "come on, really?" I'd fix the upside down segment because we don't need that sort of setpiece where they have to give you unlimited ammo in a game marketed heavily on the point of survival. That comes off as lazy and they did that sort of setpiece better with the truck. It just felt like they wanted to match up to Uncharted there. I'd make maybe four more enemy types for Cordiceps because i feel it gets a bit dull after 10 hours. I'd make it so that EVERY human isn't automatically evil. We were led to believe that you'd feel bad for killing humans because they're just trying to survive but then every human you fight is unquestionably an asshole and I never once felt remorse. I'd add more than ONE animation for stealth takedowns as Joel because, y'know, that's obvious. Swear to god I never got anything but the one. I wouldn't make Joel, a smuggler who has shot guns for at least a decade, have such garbage aiming that you have to pay to upgrade. Don't make a mechanic intentionally shit just to level it up, that's bad design. I also dislike the ending; I have more but I'm in a time crunch, forgive me.

If you don't read and comprehend what i am saying then there is no reason to continue this discussion. And there is no need to get upset either.

I argued that the story is straight forward and does not change it's premise, but it is still excellent and well written, there is no contradiction in that.

And under all this subjective cherry picking and jumbling gameplay with plot points you do after that, if you belive they didn't meet any people in this game that are not evil, then you must have played a different game, or you have a serious case of selective denial.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

I love the single player of both about equally (though for different reasons), but overall i enjoyed TLOU more since i absolutely loved its MP but didn't care much for that side of UC2 and 3.

Uncharted 2's one of my favourite games ever so just from that, I'd go with Uncharted

I'll start with the last bit you said. In Pittsburgh, all of your enemies are part of a group of Raiders that kill for the sake of it. There are lines of dialogue I can (admittedly only vaguely) recall where the Raiders just straight up talk about their kills. In Colorado, again, all part of a group of Raiders. The University, all Raiders. The only people I could say are not evil that Joel/Ellie fought (notice FOUGHT, I didn't say meet anywhere in my post, and if I did that was a mistake on my part) are the endgame enemies, and I have a lot of problems with that segment that I'd get into once I can get home and use spoiler tags without worry of them not working. Nice try going with the cherry picking argument when pretty much all the issues I listed are blatant story or logic problems. The only nitpicks I really made are the stealth kill animation (which legitimately did break my immersion after four hours, since I play conservatively and almost exclusively stealth) and the upside down segment, but even the latter of the two has serious problems when compared to the style of the game.

A lot of these issues I wrote WERE writing issues. The character interaction is normally spot on, yes, but again, a shitty plot written well isn't necessarily good. I'll get into that later, though, should we continue this. Again, spoilers, forgive me for delaying that.

But, with all due respect, if you're going to try and go with the blanket statement to discredit everything I say, let's just stop now. Opinions are opinions, and I've played the game more than enough to have logical backup to mine, whether you agree with them or not.

I voted uncharted because I find it more fun, TLOU has many other things going for it but it's not a game to just play and enjoy.

Uncharted 2 (8.5/10) 1(6.5/10) 3(7.5/10) considering the AI in Last of Us (6/10) doesn't work.

Easily Uncharted for me.  Uncharted 2 is definitely my favorite, but I'd take any of the Uncharted games over TLOU.

Ahhh no u can't stop at U1!! Around 2007 when it released, U1 had a lot of praise, but I really wasn't impressed with it. It was decent but I could not find it fun to play.

But U2 blew me away and has become my second fav game of all time. You can't write off the uncharted series just from U1. You're missing out! And you'll REALLY be missing out when Uncharted 4 releases. That game is going to be incredible.

Is U2 really that much better? I was miserable while playing 1. What sorts of improvements were made, if you don't mind me asking? I have a ps4 so I could always get the collection later on when it is cheap

Oh the difference is huge. The average person will agree on this.

Improvements:

gameplay--actually fun to play, which is probably the most important change from U1. Some stealth added also.

Action:  ramped up significantly. Awesome set pieces.

Also better story, great new characters, the voice acting and production values are both amazing, and the graphics were unprecedented at the time. Still hold up today.

I haven't played an uncharted game for several years, so I'm hoping U2 still holds up 6yrs later. I have the uncharted collection for ps4. Couldn't pass up an excuse to play this series again. Will be playing them soon.

So you telling me you want the game to give you innocent people to kill? I am pretty sure he FOUGHT Henry when he met him. They were also threatened by his brothers wife before they realized they are not evil.

Nobody kills for the sake of it. if you read all the clues you would know how the raiders in pittsburg formed and what they do. Talking about selective denial. If you listened to the raiders talk, you would also have heard them complaining how the shoes of the people they killed are too small for them.

But why don't we make this easy on you and you tell me a game that did everything better by that same standards you apply.
