Oh the difference is huge. The average person will agree on this. 

Improvements:  

gameplay--actually fun to play, which is probably the most important change from U1. Some stealth added also. 

Action:  ramped up significantly. Awesome set pieces. 

Also better story, great new characters, the voice acting and production values are both amazing, and the graphics were unprecedented at the time. Still hold up today.

I haven't played an uncharted game for several years, so I'm hoping U2 still holds up 6yrs later. I have the uncharted collection for ps4. Couldn't pass up an excuse to play this series again. Will be playing them soon.
