Well, it turns out playboy is going to stop nude photos in the magazine. I've read that playboy is in some trouble, financially, so changes would be expected. But is this the direction they should go? Is this the end of one of the biggest magazine publishments?

For me, I don't really care either way, as I haven't picked up a playboy mag in 20 years or so, since I was a teen. Who knows, maybe playboy will be fine, as everyone reads it for the articles anyhow, right?

I won't post a link to any news articles about it, seeing as though there are many...

Thanks to internet porn they're irrelevant. They will lose last remaining cloud that actually buys for the pictures and keep the one that like the magazine for other stuff. I don't think it's on us to judge if that is a good move or not. I mean they want to do this, so they're probably gonna be happy with the outcome.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

It is a good move. Playboy is classy and will work better as a lifestyle magazine. The brand recognition can improve from here on.

That said they should have a mega final nude issue.

thats good, allways disliked the nude pictures, they are mostly just meh compared to the sexy underwear ones.

First off, that's very asinine of them. They need more nudity in the mag and less ads. They are fascinated with breasts as much as any 12 year would be. It's a really tame nude magazine compared to other mags like penthouse and hustler. It's not that the internet that did this, it's their unwillingness to adapt to younger generations and what they want in a mag that is responsible for declining sales.

I got lost on my way to IGN and somehow ended up here...

it's a good move.

porn is just so accessible now via the internet. while i'd never pay for any porn i frankly wouldn't even look at still pics when video is so much more,.. useful.

by dropping the nudity they'll make the magazine more "accessible" as many people won't feel the shame and guilt of being seen looking at porn. as a lifestyle magazine they at least have a chance to find a new more successful niche.
