Anytime I've ever put an article on here, I've provided the source link, and usually even the writer's name.  I've never taken credit for someone elses work.  I do think that should be stomped on, harshly (Not properly providing source links/notation).  But beyond that, the policy is absurd.  But w/e, not my site, not my problem.  I don't really come to VGchartz for games news anyway.

The link should be included, I agree, although I have forgotten a couple of times. It's bad enough that we have consitant trolls that try to ruin every thread that isn't about their favourite console but now we're going to get those same fools reporting people who often start those threads about the console that isn't their favourite. And who's responsible for this sudden awareness? A person that joined in January of this year and has posted TWO threads, one of which consists of TWO Tweets and the other is this thread. It grinds my gears.

Most of the threads posted is news provided by the company themselves to the press, being reported by a hundred sites containing identical content, unless it's an opinion piece, a unique data breakdown, or some exclusive thing I don't see the issue with copying and pasting the full article with a link.

I can agree if the article is very long, but I don't really see the problem otherwise. Besides, I always make sure to give my thoughts on the subject and link the article! That should be enough imo.

I do agree that threads should not have the full article (in fact like mentioned previously, its against the rules). That being said, your personal issue with isn't exactly solved by your solution if someone just gives and unbiased summary. Sure some more people might click the link, but it really feels inconsequential in that regard.

I'd personally prefer if people put a bit of the article, then the link, then very clearly addressing the article themselves with their own opinion or addressing future comments in the thread with a question or something in that order. Or at least something of those lines.

Why would anyone invest that much time into a site that can't even deliver on it's primary function anymore?

Simple. People don't come here for the primary function. More than likely if that was the reason they were here, they are gone by now. That's an excuse.

Well you can get mad all you want, but bringing seniority or experience into question isn't going to help you at all in this case. Especially since its part of the rules. And since you've been here alot longer than the OP and many other people here, myself included, you should actually know that getting mad at something that is actually part of the rules, which again you should know, is silly.

Second comparing tweets and full blown articles is silly for several reasons, but I'll just go based off the OP's complaint; You don't get paid for tweets and even if you do, a they don't get paid for clicks to going to the actual tweet. That comparison makes no sense.

Really?  You think most people don't come here to talk numbers?  They seem to be the most active threads.

The main issue here is copyright issues, meaning that you can be sued for copying content, which is illegal. Does it happen? Yes. But does it often happen? No.. so though this is a big no acceptable, whether here on this site or elsewhere, not much is really done about it
