Higher minimum wages = higher prices or less work hours or both.

That isn't true. As you said minimum wage it's barely a wage meant to keep you alive without working like a slave (it's $5/h in US if I'm not wrong, it's already very low, in germany is 25€ with better welfare than the US).

If you lower the min. wage the poor will have to work more to stay alive, it won't affect prices because they will buy the same, just the things they HAVE to buy either way if they don't want to die.

If we raise the minimum wage, companies will raise prices and give their workers less hours or hire less workers to make up the difference. That's fact. If we keep mininum wage where it's at or lower it, nothing happens from it really but companies will make more money and it will not hurt everyone. That's fact. A minimum wage job is not a means to make a living. Fact. It would actually take multiple minimum wage jobs working part time just to make ends meet. Fact. That hasn't changed ever in the states. It was like that many years before and it will be many years later.

My point is that a minimum wage job is not a career or a logical choice in a job if you want to take care of your family and be able to enjoy life in the long run. So some think that by raising the mininum wage,  minimum wage workers will be able to enjoy the perks of the middle class. It's a fool's notion and it does not address the problem at it's root. The root is that person cannot provide for their family with their current skillset and education level. Education is the solution that works best for the whole country in the long run. There's no negative to it.

This proverb really suits this.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

I am in. It's Trump or Carson for me. He's the kind of asshole we've always said to each other we need in the white house.

Plus he's the only candidate who understands how to actually make money. The vast majority in the race have done nothing but spent their entire life in the public sector which is a popularity contest rather than results driven. When I heard him speak about trade long before he even was on anyone's radar for becoming president I knew he'd be the person we need. Plus not taking any money from anyone give me hope this guy could put a huge steak in the heart of the typical puppet masters who control Washington.

Also I can't stand Clinton. She's faker than plastic dog shit. Someone who won't ever speak from the hip and always has to control every interaction with the media raises enough alarm bells for me. You see Trump giving 30 minute interviews with multiple reporters all the freaking time. When has anyone running for office has the sack to do 10 minutes without handlers? And Clinton, unlike her husband, can't take any questions for months after she said she was running? Come on man.

Making money is a little bit different than being able to make a country money.

Any one who thinks that Vaccines cause autism, should not be in office.

Trump's policy to send the Syrian refugees is a great call. Trump will be a strong leader and he will strengthen America's borders.

Yeah, when our country gets attacked, let's say it was a great call when no one else wants us.

It's a really awful thing to do.  I really hope you are being sarcastic...

Trump or carson for sure. Hillary is slime. Trump didn't say he wanted to completely remove vaccines, just in smaller doses over a longer period of time. Not sure that it causes autism but I'm no biologist.

How about we vote for Bernie Sanders instead?

He is the biggest racist in the race right now, he is ABUSING the Black Lives Matters for his own political gain, and he claims to know what they are feeling! He has the GALL to claim to know what they are feeling! Has he been beaten up by police on the sidewalk for a crime he has OBVIOUSLY not commited because he's a good goy, he didn't do nothing? No! He sits in his ivory tower -that's WHITE! a sign of systemic racism- and blathers on and on and on!

HITLERY 2016!

Wow!!! Bernie Sanders the biggest racist??? That's like saying Mother Theresa was a fanatical Nazi... where did you get that idea that Bernie Sanders is racist? Is that you Donald, spreading your( ... ahem) "wisdom"???

If you had a little research about his political track record, you would know that he is the last person you would sanely call a racist... whatever floats your goat...

I can't vote, and I wouldn't vote for any of the Republican candidates, but if Trump got the seat and enacted his tax plan, I'd save a load of money.

Yeah, that's what uneducated people who don't make the effort to actually look about what he is raving about think too... you get less taxes with Trump, but the little money that you get out of it, is easily swallowed by the new bills that spring from the tax cuts...

I guess you are looking to pick a fight with VGChartz? lol just kidding, but i do agree with you. I like Trump because he isn't afraid to say what is on his mind. But of course I want to slap some common sense into that man so he doesn't say shit to get him in more trouble (although you could argue there is no turning back now..). Either way i commend you on being the first person to post a pro Trump thread! And people seem to be respecting your opinion so great job! :)

You know some one who was not afraid to speak his mind & had huge crowds supporting him??? Born on 20 April 1889 in Braunau am Inn, everybody's sweetheart Adolf Hitler... the only people who deserve Trump as a leader are living in the middle of Irak, Syria, Turquey & Iran!

This is exactly why i can't back someone like Bernie Sanders. He fforgets that raising minumum wage will hurt our economy more than he thinks. No one will be hiring and lots of people are going to get laid off. And we already have a high unemployment rate so it will hurt so many people rather than benefit.

You should read a little bit of history & learn where revolutions do spring from...

Look up his information and statistics for doing so.  Work production has increased vastly and minimum wage stopped increasing along with it.  A lot of this is due to automation and shipping jobs overseas.  Corporation profits have skyrocketed and they even encourage their employees to seek government assistance programs as a result of low paying jobs.  The cost of living has also increased while the minimum wage has remained the same.  It is a broken system.

Bernie wants to do so much like offer affordable healthcare, free education, ensure the elderly can live off medicare, fund renewable energy infrastructure, ensure corporations PAY taxes by not putting profits in safe havens where they pay ZERO.  Ever since Reagan took office corporations have got away with paying ZERO $ in taxes.  To fund free education he wants to tax wallstreet, the people bailed them out and now its time they do it for us so we can grow as a society.  He is the only candidate that cares about the problems such as racism, the ridiculous non regulated budget for the military and so many other things.

Go look up his middle class statistics.  It is appaling.  Families make on average less money than they did in 1999.  Ridiculous.

Are you mad??? Talking sense & backed-up facts to Trumps worshippers. Facts & the truth is for commies!!! Guns mixed with racism & mor $$ to the richest is the Divine word sent to us by God through Saint Trump!!!

Yeah, lowering the minimum wage of Americans to that of poor African countries is really good for the US. Have you heard the policies that he has promised?

I'm familar with most of his policies and I don't agree with all of 'em but overall, he's the best choice out of the options for the country. Minimum wage was never meant to be the equilevent of "making a living" off from it. It's really a short term arrangement til you can get the job you want or a better job or until you're done with school.  Raising minimum wage is only a short term band aid because prices will inflate right along with it.

Schooling is the most logical long term solution for anyone who wants a higher quality of life and to able to put a silver spoon in their kid's mouth.

Wait you mean raising minimum wage will cause no effect because prices change with it, but lowering minimum wage will cause an effect because prices do not change with it? Is this true? I don't know, I've only taken a couple of economics courses.

Are you sure? I mean, the whole "taking economics" thing, because it seems like you tried to solve a problem and checked the immediate consequences before calling it a solution.

The thing is those people's pay goes into the cost of goods. True, this doesn't affect manufacturing of a lot, since most soul-sucking corporations have given our jobs to malnourished China Inf (they're op) at Foxconn. It does, however, affect the payrate of employees in retail, in marketing, and in shipping. There's also the food industry, which is mostly internalized for fast food. All those burger flippers in high school making $10 an hour would mean that those three dollars multiplied by hundreds of thousands have to come from somewhere. And since the fat F**KS at the top will never budge on even a DIME, this is coming out of you. Everything will become more expensive because the labor is more expensive.

That's basic economics, bruh. Raising the minimum wage over and over is just a precursor to inflation.

How about "those three dollars multiplied by hundreds of thousands have to come from somewhere" start to come from the huge benefits & dividends from these company that get away from paying taxes , while the poorest workers have to pay them... less trillions in the Caimans islands more on the table of american workers! How about that???
