Forums - Gaming Discussion - What's the quickest you've returned/traded-in a game?

Skyrim on PS3, guess why. Luckily I bought it cheap and I was able to sell it on a different retailer a couple of days later so at least I got most of my money back.

That was probably the only one. I always make sure I'll like the game when I decide to pay for it

Red Dead Redemption. Somehow I didn't like it the first time I tried it on the PS3, so I returned the next day. Some months later my brother bought it for the Xbox 360 and I gave it a chance and actually enjoyed it. I don't regret returning it because I ended up getting it back (somehow), but it's a incredible game that didn't deserve that treatment.

The first Mario & Sonic Olympics game. Literally returned it the next day. I had naively figured that "Hey, Nintendo is partnering with them on this, and it'll basically just play like Wii Sports, but with Mario and Sonic characters, how could they possibly fuck that up? I'm sure it'll be fun."

And then I remembered, upon playing it, that Sega made it. Sega of today, is not Sega of the 90s, or even 15 years ago.

Another far bigger disappointment that I returned within just a few days, was Tekken 6. I had preordered that, and it, along with The Last Guardian (and later Dragon's Crown), would be my most anticipated PS3 games, and my reasons to own the system. Well, Tekken 6 came out, and while the graphics were dandy, and the regular arcade/versus modes were fine, the fact that you couldn't seemingly unlock the actual character endings in the Arcade mode like you had pretty much ALWAYS been able to before, was lame as fuck. And the so-called "Adventure mode" or whatever that was supposed to be, was pretty awful. All in all, the game just lacked content and was not great by any means. I suppose I was just spoiled by how GREAT a package Tekken 5 on PS2 had been (seriously, they spoiled us). But with the exception of Tekken 2 which was fine, it seems like the other even numbered Tekken games have been, more or less, garbage, while the odd numbered releases (namely 3 and 5) have been fantastic.

So long story short, I took Tekken 6 back less than a week after getting it, and traded it back in (one of the rare times I've done so, as I prefer to keep/collect games), and got store credit which I put towards pre-ordering New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Which subsequently wound up being a great game, so it worked out, I guess. But I still would have rather Tekken 6 been worth the money.

Dying Light. I played it for maybe 30 or 40 minutes before deciding the parkour controls were the laziest things to ever grace a video game. Rather than learning a frustrating system, I resold the game ASAP and said screw it.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Got it for Christmas last year, took me about two weeks to start playing cause I was playing other games I got, took a week to beat it, then sold it a week or two later because I wasn't big on it and knew I would never play it again.

When I was a kid who knew little and had a bit of money I bought Busby 3D and it was...terrible. I went to return it but they gave me store credit and I bought Legend of Dragoon in its place. He'll of an upgrade.

Traded in Mega Man 64 after I beat it in two days. It was short and I was expecting something more like the classic games.

Hyrule warriors, I played a couple of hours total. A complete cash grab and disgrace to the Zelda franchise.

Watch Dogs, 1 day.

Farcry 2 and Fallout New Vegas. Sold them both online the day i bought them.
