I can see that someone would call the police.

Damn shame to come down so harsh on a kid who is clearly gifted at creating things and peoples mind jump right to bomb tho.... kid just built an LED clock, shame his skin colour means people think something so bad rather than creative child.

I was just about to comment that i can't comment until i see the actual "clock" when i came across your post.

Also, people need to ask themselves if they want to be the guy who didn't do anything if this was brought to their attention.

I also blame movies that make you belive that a pen sized explosive can blow up a house.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

suspended for bringing a clock , plus the embaressment in front of his freinds !! i think those "adults" are the terrorists because they have terrorised a 14 years boy !

Are you sure? It doesn´t look dangerous to me, and... normally bomb timers go down instead of up, those policeman don´t seem very clever....

Good to see the authorities acting so quickly, since if it was a bomb their fast action may have prevented a disaster.

However since it wasn’t and was clearly a honest mistake on the teenagers part they shouldn’t have suspended him at all.

So they should arrest every kid with a box just in case??

how in the world would you know... do you make bombs? *picks up the phone*

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Guess I can't blame them for being suspicious, I mean, it's not like most students bring a clock with them to school.

A 3 day suspension seems like a bit too much, though.

No but the teachers should inform the authorities if they find something that they think is suspicious and beyond their Capability’s to deal with then the authorities should take it from there. If they feel the need to bring them in and question them, then that’s their prerogative.

If it turns out they are totally innocent as in this case it has, the suspect should be made clear of that and should get off with a warning and be allowed back to class.

did he intend to scare people and make a statement? if so, then they could arrest him... but since they didn't charge him anything... why suspend him?
