In my experience people usually watch gaming streams and videos for the commentary, not just the game. I'm watching a Hearthstone stream right now while getting some work done. Am i 'mental'?

People like to cry over nothing. The fact that they make those comments makes gamers look bad in general. It's a comedy skit, people should get over it.

Well, i personally dont watch e-sports, usually because i would ratger play them(Though i have already watched one or two and really enjoyed them).But saying that people who watch them are, putting in few words, stupid is completely ignorant.Its the same as saying that someone who watches football instead of playing it is a moron.There is simply no logic.People like to see professional players play, because they play better, which in turn make the game session much more exciting, and people like to cheer, see someone they respect win.Its the same reason as any other sport.

I know that great part of a joke comes from making fun of other things, in this case of lets play or game streaming, but his insistence on this and his constant flamming and ignorance in this matter just makes him look ignorant and stupid, not funny.

It does not bother me because I am secure in playing video games. Comedians make jokes, if I don't like them I just don't watch them.

Well there are also a lot of porn performers that don't do anal or give good blowjobs.  His point is very valid if you have a siginificant other and can have sex on a regular basis there really is no reason to watch porn.

In lets-plays you are watching some random anybody play a videogame, not that I have anything against that. In sports you are watching the top 1% of professional athletes perform for a team that may just represent your city. A couple of people have brought up sports but I really don't see the comparison other than you can view them both on a monitor. Chocolate and feces both have similar traits but you wouldn't compare them.

First video was fine...his point was understandable, but the sketch was pretty terrible (as in not funny at all).

Second video was just stupid...it moved from lighthearted jab to calling gamers 12 year olds and saying that video games are a waste of time etc.. I thought we moved past the 90's where gamers were portrayed as living in their parents basements and wasting their lives. You're showing your age Jimmy...

I have absolutely no problem with the joke, because it's a joke.

As for watching someone else play a video game, I've done it for years on games I just can't be bothered to play, or frankly would be too scared to play. It's usually single-player story games I'd never be able to complete myself, like outlast, deadspace, P.T. or other horror games. Speedruns are fun too. In these situations, it's just like watching a very long film if you look for ones with no commentary.

other question, why does he have his own show? cant they find another guy from the daily show for this job? they are all fun, and they have some who have no own show.
