I have absolutely no problem with the joke, because it's a joke.

As for watching someone else play a video game, I've done it for years on games I just can't be bothered to play, or frankly would be too scared to play. It's usually single-player story games I'd never be able to complete myself, like outlast, deadspace, P.T. or other horror games. Speedruns are fun too. In these situations, it's just like watching a very long film if you look for ones with no commentary.
