Forums - Gaming Discussion - I'm On Chapter 11 Of MGS5 ... When Does It Start Being Fun?

MGS is a game you play for its story only always hated that they made it to complicated but if you can get into the story it must be very rewarding. I always messed around in MGS. Like in MGS2 on the Tanker part where I enjoyed myself taking the guards down and dropping them one by one in the water.

if you think MGS is overly complicated you should stick with Mario games. 2 button input seem to be your limit

There is a secret button combination within the game to make it fun. Press the PS button twice, then scroll right with the D-Pad until you're over a tile called "Rocket League". Press X and confirm any dialogues that may pop up.

If you're playing on Steam, there is a similar button combination.

Currently no way to make it fun on X1 but it may be patched in at a later time.

I'm getting it for PC myself, looks like an entertaining title to me. Then again; I could be wrong. Been a MGS fan since the NES days, but I found MGS 4 to be too heavy on cutscenes.
I can't really claim that OP is wrong, but it sounds strange that it would be boring.

I'm only on chapter 2 so far and I'm loving every minute of it. The opening hospitial part was so epic and enough to make this my game of the year so far. I love the enviroments and the freedom this game gives you. I like the fact that you can apporach the game any way you want. If I suck at a mission, then I feel it's my fault. the game makes me want to do better, that's my idea of an epic game. one that makes me want to keep trying and getting better.

Hey, at least it doesn't have David Hayter.

So I quite liked Ground Zeroes. Is this quite substantially different, or is it a case of more is not always better?

You might like it. It's just too bloated for its own good. Everything that makes MGS great has been removed and we're left with mere token gestures to remind us it's a MGS game. I would say buy Farcry 4 instead because if you strip away the manufactured layers, that's all it is. It's just a clumsier version. I LOVE stealth games and I have incredible patience but this just feels wrong. It's built around getting better equipment and then going back and getting an S rank. That's shouldn't be the focus but unfortunately because it's semi open world and the story has taken a back seat, the ONLY motivation to infiltrate and complete missions is just that.

It's the firt Dude-bro MGS

I was honestly never a fan of Metal Gear Solid. I've played MGS1-4 and thought they were decent at best and  very boring at worst! It seems like MGSV  is no different.
