You're gonna have to show me a pic of those improved models.  I got TLoU for ps3 and ps4 and I don't see it!

Can't say I could spot any increase in polygons either, yet I did see a definite upgrade in the character models from ps3 and ps4

I went kinda overboard with the photo mode on ps4, loved it.

I guess the mesh is unchanged, this is one of my shots, look at his ear

Looks pretty good anyway, big upgrade from ps3.

First resolution. Then exclusive.

Now we war over what is a port/remake/remaster. LOL the GAF thread is hilarious. So much downplaying and negativity.

Remaster or not, this XB1 game can be uglier than the X360 game (different textures), while missing several effects and having regular sub-30fps drops (they didn't show us the most demanding levels too but some reviewers noted heavy drops in demanding areas and anyways we can see a 25fps drop on the DF video along with many others 27-28fps drops).

The DF article about it is way too much apologetic about so many missing things and still sub-30fps (what's really matters, right? 60fps?).

I still remember their awful Journey article (by the same author) where he constantly trashed the game due to the purposeful lack of motion blur and higher resolution glittering effect causing less coarse sand when the PS4 port was "perfect" for many with its essential 60fps framerate and higher resolution effects, not missing effects like with GoWR.

But I read that the author talked to the devs so that would explain why the article was so apologetic.

I you didn't notice the in game character models they used in TLOUR were from the cutscene models, I doubt a picture would make a difference.

The PS5 Exists.

I had mixed feelings about 60fps after playing the beta. GoW1 plays a bit slower and clunkier than GoW3 and 60fps makes it feel unnaturally smooth at first. Some people in Gears forums are already complaining it's slower than original Gears, but I think this is because of framerate because UE plays quite similar to original.

In the end you get used to both framerates, I don't know which is ultimately better for Gears tho.

Well I'd argue 60 fps is pretty much always better. But many games opt for 30 fps and the games still play fine.

Frankly, GearsUE could have had vastly improved visuals over the original and still acheived 60 fps. To do so they would have to scale back the presentation or maybe just resolution, but it could still be a vast improvment over last gen.

I think a primary reason they set the bar at 30 fps is Gears 4 is aiming for 30 fps. They are opting for presentation over performance. Which is still common practice and acceptable this gen.

Those who are truly opposed to 30 fps should have powerful PCs.

I don't know much about tech stuff but if I'm not mistaken they explained you can only do so much with old unreal engine. They wanted to make campaign glorious and multiplayer is stripped as far as visuals and effects go. Good call imo.

And what does playstation exclusives have to do with this? 😐 Are you guys for real with that argument?

Can we please keep this on topic?

Never played a gears game before, I'll definitely get this when it's out for PC.

No 60 FPS on this game is kinda strange, i dont see how a game that looks like this does not achieve it, Metal gear 5 on xbox1 have 60 fps, does resolution makes such a big diference?

Different devs different levels of talent.  I'll be grabbing MGSV on Tuesday but maybe it's just an awesome PS3/360 game and the Fox engine is just better than Unreal.

At the cost of 60fps, i dont even see the reason why it had to be remastered if they cant archive 60fps. Well at least PC gamers will get the 60fps

Pretty much all 30 fps games are at the cost of 60 fps.

I feel like some people arent bringing common sense to this thread. The Gears remaster is one of many 30 fps games this gen.

Gears is not a game from this gen thats the difference

The remaster delivers graphics of this gen. It seems people are ignoring that minor detail.

I dont think anybody complained about the lack of 60 fps in Halo Anniversary because of the vastly improved graphics.
