It's finding loopholes (like the Patriot Act and attempts remove the use of guns) and plans to alter the constitution (Like Trumps plan to change the 14th amendment if he gets elected) is what has this country going to the gutter...

Please why change something that's not broken? Unlike the bible which was written 2 millennia ago, this was only written barely two hundred years ago and is still very relevant today... and it's not like people are suffering because of it...

The problem for me isn't changing it -because as it stands, yes, it isn't the best thing ever; but what stops me is the people in charge of the government now. I don't trust them to make a constitution even half as good as what's already in place

America was once very well respected in the eyes of the world, today its more like people look at America and *facepalm*

Ive been to America its a choice as place to visit but I could never live there, there is some serious serious issues that need to get changed for me to want to live there.

Is that because of the constitution though?  It's just a loose set of policies and fundamental rights that people are guaranteed.  It doesn't determine the society as a whole or the people that inhabit it.   

I'm sure there are a few amendments that could help align it with the modern social climate, but I'm not sure what would need changed that would require a complete rewrite.  Is there a certain change in the constitution that would suddenly make American more respectable or a better place to visit?
