PS4 is already doing pretty well, starting September it's going to become an absolute beast.

In Japan, September and October are the worse month of the year.

And also, this is a holidays week in Japan, if you don't know.

Honestly, i think the people will be way disappoint with PS4 in japan this year. I can see a huge Metal Gear week ( +50k ) but after that, PS4 will back soon at the 10-15k basis for End of September and October...

It is not.

Setember and October will be bigger than August... August is the worst month for PS4.

Oh, now I got your point. Yes, so in particulary terms October is a bad month. May, it's bad in general terms (something than it's worse). I mean the total of hardware (and software) sold. By the way, why do you think PS4 slowing down? I mean, 10k - 15k, is not that bad, though.

for me, is bad honestly. I think a console should sell at least 20k at week, and more than 50k during December because of course is the holidays time.

So yeah, if you ask me, this week withouth 3DS is pretty poor, expecially if we considering is obon week.

I couldn't have put it better myself!
Market has really slow down this generation in Japan and Global.
Hell in the last generation every console sold 80M+ and 4 of them sold 10M+ in Japan.
This generation we will see probably only one console selling 80M+ (PS4) and also only one console selling 10M+ (3DS) in Japan.

Cool.  Saw the spike with Mario Kart as well, does Media Create or Famitsu include bundle games in their list?  Since MK8 is bundled with Wii U?

Glad the home consoles got a good bump during this japanese holiday (whatever that holiday is).

Yes. Since the actual game is included in the bundle, you're seeing its legs increased due to it.

Bumps aren't bad, but a bit underwhelming as my expectations rose a bit after seeing some of the early data.

those are normal numbers for Japan now, i mean not a huge boost, but knowing Japan's economy and the mobile market getting bigger, gaming exclusive on consoles or handhelds would really shrink.

Ubon week seems to have given boosts around the table, and that's nice to see. Of course we have to keep in mind that drops will come around next week.
Anyways, awesome job to Splatoon. I was expecting 50K honestly but a little more than 40K isn't too bad. HHD, Rhythm and Yokai still holding up nicely also. Same to Fire Emblem, here's to it passing 500K LT. Though it might be iffy to track it completely in the end due to it have a big digital component in the half off other version deal and the third scenario thing.
Anyways, let us hope the drops aren't too large next week!

Disagree with this. Every PS4 is bundled with Bloodborne in Japan right now.
So it is a really good time to buy a PS4 in August.

Just because is happen in 2014, that's doesn't mean will happen every time.

And if the PS4 in October will sell more than in August ( sure possible ) will be because the boost of the game released that month and maybe because the Metal Gear effect will continue, but not because october is a bigger month for PS4.

Aloso, in May, the PS4 sold 51,849 unit according to media Create ( 4 May to 31 May) so far in August, the PS4 sold 33,122 unit... unrless you think in the nexts 2 weeks PS4 will dropped under 10k, August will be bigger than May.

Pretty much just proves its based on games. The smallest month shall usually be one of those 3 but the one with the least games shall be the lowest.

Yeah, I understand that's pretty sad no having 20k per week. However, we're talking about Japan. Things are not as they have usually been. The mobile market is what keeps alive the industry. You can't expect 20k baseline (except for 3DS), from any point of view.

This. People really need to update their expectasions to 2015 and stop bringing up the past context. 10-15k for PS4 in September/October would already be 50-100% increase YOY in many weeks and if that is not good I don't understand what the fuck people are expecting. It is unrealistic to expect 300% YOY increases to baseline without major japanese big hitters releasing. If PS4 does let's say 15k through September/October then next year, in 2016 with 50% growth the PS4 would have 22,5k baseline and I don't think PS4 will stop there. PS4 is on its way to great sales but it has to walk before it can run.

Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.

PS4 so stronk and the best thing is it's selling now mainly on hype!!!!

Yet the hype is still not out performing the Wii U, and even if we do not use the Famitsu model, it is only barely winning.

Which brings me to my biased post below......

Wii U beats PS4 this week???!!! Sweet!

Also Yoshi having some mini legs! Nothing great though, will take the rest of the year to hopefully break 100 thou.

Well its all Splatoon and we all know that. It is really good though, for all the bombas WiiU has had it's nice to see success in the platform and shows Nintendo has not lost the golden touch.
