I think 50 bucks. Yes it sells well at 399, however the potential sales by dropping the price and increased revenue from a faster growing usersbase should outstrip the lost 50 per piece of hardware.

I think Sony just wants to make sure they are not losing money on hardware (which is why I doubt a 100 dollar drop).

I agree that Sony will have to drop the price of PS4 to give Morpheus the best chance of being viable. It's such an expensive proposition to get into VR that they will need to give people a reason to buy in. Spending $100 less on the base PS4 is about as good a reason as they will be able to muster. A Morpheus bundle would have to be no more than $450 to get reasonable appeal, and it will need a game autobundled, like Kinect Adventures was autobundled with Kinect.

I think Sony will focus on the 35+ million PS4 owners that already exist when Morpheus  launches before they start worrying about pricing of the bundle.

I think the older models get a 50$ cut. to get rid of them.
The newer models just get more epic bundles.

I agree that the base price of the PS4 around the time of Morpheus release has to be lower than $399. I however believe that Sony will push Morpheus more towards its already installed base of users who at the time (assuming Morpheus gets released around fall next year) will be around 50M as opposed to getting new people to come on board just for Morpheus. 

 

But yeah, no price drop this year. As it stands they are on track to selling more than they did last year so dropping the price makes no business sense whatsoever.

I think they should cut it by $50 first week of September, when sales start to ramp up.

I would then be tempted to cut the price another $50 in around April next year. Uncharted 4 and Street Fighter V will move systems after the holidays, and another price cut to keep the momentum going and to make Morpheus look more attractive after that is the way to go.

I can understand who believe in 50 €$, even if probabily is not gonna happen, but 100?
